How did they play up the romance angle between Amos & Flora? Did they go on dates or were they just good neighbors who spent a little time together?

I was thinking, Madge Blake has good career. Larry Mondello' mother on Leave it to Beaver, Flora on Real McCoys and Aunt Harriet on Batman. Probably had a bunch more episodes on other shows.

As for the angle, I saw it as good friends. Tv in those days made you wonder but who knows.

At first, Flora went after Amos - it all started when they moved in and found out she was using their water supply for her herd of sheep/cows...I especially remember the box lunch eppie where they were going to the dance and she fixed this HUGE boxed lunch but he kept trying to take advantage of her kindness..she was nuts about him though..Now that I get to watch the newer eppies on COZI (after Kate died and the kids are gone), they never did get together for whatever reason because when she's seen now, they appear to be just friends....
