On this day. 22 years ago, a great singer, entertainer, and human being was tragically killed, along with his band members, in a fiery plane crash.

I wanted to have a space for other fans to share tributes, thoughts and memories.

What I liked most about Rick Nelson was his devotion to his music. He had the highest integrity for it, often turning down commercial offers that would have been of vast help financially--but were rejected because he felt his music would be undermined.

He died en route to entertain yet another set of fans--on New Year's Eve 1985. He is deeply missed.

I had a crush on him when he was on TV. I remember in 72 when Garden Party started playing on the radio, I LOVED the song and to this day when I hear it, it brings back good memories.

I'm really not all that familiar with Rick Nelson - I'm much more familiar with his kids (Tracy and the twins, Matthew & Gunnar). My dad was always a fan of Rick's music, and we were all sorry to hear what had happened. :rip: Rick.
