Despite his insistence that his job was safe, the Brian Billick era in Baltimore is over.

The team fired their head coach Monday, FOXSports.com has learned, capping an extremely disappointing season.

This comes one day after FOX Sports reported that the players and other employees informed team owner Steve Biscotti that Billick had completely lost the locker room and could not win them back.

Billick was hired as an offensive guru but during his tenure it was his defenses that won for the Ravens, especially their Super Bowl title. Over time Billick was unable to get his QBs to star and his offenses stalled year in and year out.

Earlier this year he proclaimed that he had been given the vote of confidence from Biscottit but that was never confirmed and was obviously not true.

the dolphins coach would have defintely been fired if he went 0-16. so he may have saved his job by going 1-15, i think-lol

I think his fate was sealed after they lost to the Dolphins. They need somebody who can fix that offense.

Billick was a good Quarterback away from being a good coach. Look at all the garbage Qbs he had to work with.

Billick to Eagles as offensive consultant?

Sunday, Jan 6, 2008 10:59 am EST

Word around Philadelphia is fired Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick, a former offensive coordinator, will join Andy Reid's Eagles staff as a consultant — similar to what Reid did with Marty Mornhinweg when he was fired by the Lions according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
The Ravens will continue to pay Billick

Well I'm pretty sure he was going to get hired by some team to do something since he was a coach for 7 years and has a SB ring

Cleveland Steamers fired their Defensive Coordinator last weekend for having one of the worst Defenses in the NFL. (No wonder we didn't make it into the playoffs, and I'm not even holding my breath foe next year!)

That's what I've been calling the Cleveland Browns since they usually stink-up everything.
