Happy New Year everyone! I'm happy to see 2007 go...it was an awful year for me. I hope 2008 has better things in store for me although somehow, looking at where I'm at now, I think I'm going to have to look ahead to 2009 and hope for better times then.

I'm going to watch Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve at 10:00pm and 11:35pm and stay up until midnight tonight. I enjoy watching DC every year.

2007 was pure, relentless agony from beginning to end...thank god there's only like 7.5 more hours of it here.

It's still only 11:10pm here (Central zone). So I and the other guys here who are in the Central zone still have 50 minutes to go. Normally, I watch Dick Clark and then switch over to Conan at 11:30, because he does the New Year's celebrations for the Central people. But no Conan this year, I think... since the writer's strike is still going.

I REMEMBER THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lol: I think he did that when it turned to 2003.

Another year, I think, he had someone come out wearing a partial map of the US- of the states that were part of the Central zone - as the new year rolled in. I'm not sure when that was... probably '04.

2007 wasn't the best year for me. Work was terrible, I was unemployed for most of the year, money was very tight, and that along with many other things put me in the midst of a depression I at times didn't know how I was going to drag myself out of.

But there were some highlights. I opened up an artistic side of me I never knew I had with all of my metal projects- it was an amazing creative outlet and something I will continue to pursue in 2008 and hopefully make a part time career..

Also, I met this wonderful woman who I have been involved with on an off throughout the year. The details I will fill you in on sometime soon. It is a very complicated situation. But, we are slowly building a relationship, and I hope things continue to progress in the new year.

So I am optimistic. I want to make many changes in my life this year, a new job, a new direction, a happier life.

I hope all of you will make your dreams come true in 2008.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to find a new Hawkeye avatar.

We started out 2008 in suburban Cleveland with a power outage. Because of the wind gusts and snow, the power kept flickering on and off all morning. Then it was out altogether for about 2 1/2 hrs. :mad: Last year, my family started 2007 off sick. New Year's Day is just not our day. :lol:
