While watching that episode today it dawned on me abt the scene where Ricky is taking a bath in the kitchen. Why did Lucy spend money on that tub when she could have easily just had Ricky take a bath in their own tub? All she had to do was fill the tub the same way she did the one the in the kitchen. I know, it may be because it was easier to heat up the water on the stove and pour it in right there with ease. But was it so much easier to do that while having had to spend God knows how much money on that tub she bought? And how did she get it upstairs?

Where did Ricky rent that horse? :lol: Obviously the same place Lucy got the baby elephant.

She probably had Mrs. Trumball help her get the tub into the apartment!!!!!!!

I don't know, but if Lucy played by her own rules [doubtful], wherever she got all those 'antiques' they couldn't have been hauled to the apartment building by motor vehicle, since she claimed she would win the bet if Ricky came home by subway or cab. Obviously, it's just for comedic effect that they did all that; the first season episodes took after film comedy shorts (or have I said that before? ;) ). As for getting the junk upstairs, the building apparently did not have any elevators, even for freight-- and don't they mention a time or 2 that there are 5 or 6 floors? So anything to be taken up the floors had to be carried up by stairs-- not too easy for pianos or big rosewood sofas or huge mahogany desks or tables. But there are some old movies in which heavy items are being hoisted up from the outside; maybe all the way to the roof if there are no windows large enough for the particular destination, since getting it down the stairs is easier than getting it up.

Regardless, I wish Lucy, rather than Ricky, was the one taking a bath in that kitchen scene. ;) ;)

I saw that episode too. Funny stuff, especially the crack about Ethel's bustle, lol. I think with this show, we have to suspend disbelief a lot and don't ask too many questions, lol.

I don't want to hijack your thread, Irene, but I saw an episode the other day that had me in stitches. Lucy was putting on a small play for the women's club. Ricky refuses to play the Cuban role, so Fred takes it, but Lucy changes it to an English play. Ricky didn't get the memo though, and it was a mess onstage, all different costumes, scenery and mishaps. Lucy breaking open the paper wall, when the door wouldn't open, was hilarious. :lol:

That episode is so darn funny. Or actually the scenes when the play actually takes place. That woman who begins to recite the poem, HYAWATHA...:rofl:
:lol: Janice, we had a thread a short time back abt that whole play and the mess that erupted. We were talking abt how did Ricky even know the English lines if he NEVER KNEW ABT IT? All he knew was the Cuban story. :crazy:

I think the tub is old fashionned looking so that makes it funnier and also, remember that we only saw that infamous Ricardo bathroom only the one time, so it stands out more in the kitchen as a TUB than it would have made as as part of the real bathroom.
