This was one of the best shows of its era and it's a JOKE that it's not on DVD when there are unheard of shows that are already out on DVD!!

Not only season 1 but the first few seasons of Alice should be on DVD by now! So why the delay????

If you find out, let the rest of us know, I'm sure everyone else here is wondering the same thing ;)

I just saw on wikipedia that you can download Season 1 to your iPod for $34.99 for the whole season or $1.99 per episode. They are available at the Apple iTunes store. I'm assuming you can then burn them to a DVD. I hope so.

well it looks like the BEST OF DVD didn't sell well and that would mean season 1 won't come at all-lol

I have always wondered that. Can you burn shows on DVD that you have downloaded from iTunes?

I have season one on DVD that I received from a great member of this board. You may have to try the trading post or ask here on the ALICE forum to get your season one since it seems it may be a long time before it ever gets released.

Have you gone to tvshowsondvd.com and seen all the UNHEARD of tv shows that are already on DVD?

There is NO WAY some of those obscure unknown shows could be more popular than Alice which was one of the most popular shows of its time.

With all those no name shows already on DVD it only makes sense that Alice season 1 has to come out on DVD at some point.

But the difference is the expectations for SALES in regards to Alice are much higher than a obscure show

I tried that, and the only thing that I got on my DVD was the menu of the names of the episodes. When I tried to play the episodes on the DVD that I burned nothing happened.

Probably as Flo would say...

When Donkeys Fly!

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

Of course, I'd like to see Alice S1 on DVD too. Just that it seems like it'll only happen when Donkeys fly, and I know what Flo means when she says that. LOL!

count me in. This certainly belongs on DVD, but considering it's Warner and it's a sitcom that doesn't begin with the letter F and isn't played out in syndication (Friends, Fresh Prince, Full House, F Troop doesn't get played out but got lucky for having the right letter LOL), even if we see a season 1, I doubt that we'd get more

It sucks too. I can't believe a show this popular is not out on DVD yet.

But that is not the deciding factor. Those obscure shows put out DVDs that did not sell well so at the same cost Alice could be out and it wouldn't hurt Warner or whoever if it didn't sell well.

We might only get 1 season but it's better than nothing!

Thanx. I always wondered but didn't try. I was hoping I could ask here and obviously you and someone else had the same results.

I know The more purchases will show has a fan base but a Best of Favorites DVD is a tease to me. I just can't do it

I hate those little best of DVD releases, but I did purchase this one. It sure is nice to watch those episodes uncut without the ION bug in the corner and all the messages flying across the bottom of the screen telling me to watch Mama's Family or Drew Carey.

I will need to have another DVD along with it in order to buy so I can have a total of 30 eps to watch. I would start off with the Alice best of DVD and then watch the full season of another show. But since my local store didn't have the cosby show season 5, I couldn't get Alice

So I guess you watch 12 hours straight of one show? (about how long it would take to watch 30 episodes)...I don't think I could handle that much of one show at a time, even Alice...I'd go crazy   When I watch a DVD set, I'll usually knock off about 3 or 4 hours at the most in one sitting, and spread the thing out over a week or two.

Yeah I reserve the entire day to watch one show about 13 hours and that's because each ep is going to be something I never saw before s that is part of why I can watch the entire season. Like the Jeffersons season 7, when that comes out it will be a all day thing because I was only 6 years old during that season so I will be treated to unseen footage in every episode.

I wish they would hurry up and release Season 1. At least the first three seasons are available on In2TV (AOL Video) online for watching and they all appear to be unedited. I don't mind watching tv online. Heck, that is about the only way I do watch it anymore.
