Just watched this one and a couple of thoughts came to mind. I feel this case could have been easily solved, or at least roused up a few leads.
The rapist's beeper goes off and he asks to use the phone. If indeed he used the phone (unless this was a ploy to get behind the desk which is possible), did LE even try to trace the call? Every call made shows up on phone bills. Was this even checked?
Also, I can understand being scared to death, but while Mr. Rapist was raping the xray tech in one of the examining rooms, where was doc and the nurse? The segment leads you to believe that the nurse was left on her knees in one room so why not call or get help? Not to mention the doctor, unless he was bound or something, but it seems doubtful. It doesn't make sense to me. The Rapist was in the exam room for at least a few minutes with the xray tech, that would have been ample time to sneak around and try to summon help.
Anyone else agree? Any thoughts?

You're going to get some pretty generic replies I feel.

Hmm. Well, assuming what we witnessed in the segment is close to what happened in reality, I would think that the beeper bit was just for show. I don't know why the suspect went that far, but perhaps he wanted to make it look like he was truly taking care of some personal business to create some sort of diversion. There is a chance that what we saw in the segment- the suspect's beeper going off, his desire to throw the tissue/paper/whatever it was in the trash can- never happened as it was shown. Also, if the victims were taped up, they might have tried to escape to call for help, but were unable. I know from experience how easy it is to tear the plastic medical tape. I think it was stupidity to ask the nurse to tape the wrists of the other victims, but the suspect did this so he could keep his eye on everyone. The nurse could have taped their wrists loosely so they could escape. And they did have some time to try and escape while he was commiting his crime.
It makes me wonder if he didn't know the layout of the doctor's office and the dress shop first, before he committed his crimes. I don't know. I have seen a few examples of the UM recreation not making sense with the reports and the facts in a case.
And I apologize if my ramblings make no sense. I've been sick and I've had a strong hot toddy this evening. :P

Watching this tonight, i had to laugh when Stack said the rapist MO was to blend in and be as average looking as possible. Real good chance of spotting him then.
I take it the case is unsolved?

I loved this segment. (Well, not because of the reprehensible acts by the rapist) but just because of the horrible acting. The guy who played the rapist was so calm and cool. "Take off your clothes." The guys says it so calm. I always thought to myself what if when he's bringing the medical people to the back he said, "ok, now tie her up. Now you... start dancing the twist." Don't look at me! Start dancing the twist!"
