View Full Version : Diane Keaton: 'Katie Holmes Is The New Audrey Hepburn'
Brian Damage 12-27-2007, 07:51 PM Katie Holmes is the new Audrey Hepburn, according to actress Diane Keaton. The Annie Hall star will appear alongside Tom Cruise's wife in 2008 movie Mad Money, and she insists 29-year-old Holmes has the grace and charisma to become the world's next great humanitarian icon.
Keaton tells Parade.com, "It's just so beautiful to watch a girl become a young woman. I tell you, I think it's a miracle. I remember how I was at that age and how my obsession was to be Audrey Hepburn, my idol. Now Katie has the candle. She's more adventurous than I am. Being the wife of Tom Cruise, she's been thrown into a world you can't really be prepared for, yet Katie handles it with grace."
"Like Audrey Hepburn, she's like celebrity royalty. She has a calm center in the storm of whatever is going on around her."

Dean Winchester 12-27-2007, 11:31 PM has Diane Keaton lost her mind?
Brieannas21 12-27-2007, 11:51 PM I can see how she would say that. Katie carry’s herself with class and dignity, she not like the other celebs in Hollywood.

the class and dignity is actually a rigorous reprogramming given to her by the church of Scientology. She went from Joey to a real life stepford wife.

Is it Katie’s religious that makes her a bad person? Does Scientoloy teach hate and judgment? I don't think so. She wasn't in the public eye before she even started to date Tom, so who really knows what belief system she followed. She hasn't shown any signs of being trashy or classless. When some people get married, they will practice their partner’s religion or belief. I didn’t know that being a Scientologist made those who belief in it bad or robotic people.
Dean Winchester 12-28-2007, 02:47 AM I watched Dawson's Creek the entire run and saw her in many interviews and the sort during and slightly after the show. Katie completely changed once she met Tom and converted to $cientology, it's hard to believe she's the same girl who just five years ago was always stuck between Dawson and Pacey

I agree.
coffield3 12-28-2007, 05:37 AM Has Diane been smoking crack? That's like saying Justin Timberlake is the next John Lennon or something!

LOL yeah I know
Janice 12-28-2007, 03:05 PM I don't see the comparison, based on looks alone. Audrey was naturally gorgeous, while Katie is pretty, in my opinion. She doesn't hold a candle to Audrey.
Ireneparalegal 12-28-2007, 03:40 PM Audrey was in a league all by herself. No one has come close to that perfection. ;) Besides, I remember Audrey for her humanitarian work and helping orphans around the world. Has Katie done that? Or is Diane only making a "movie star" comparison?
Dean Winchester 12-28-2007, 04:36 PM while I'm not a fan of the lady, Angelina Jolie is the closest thing to a new Audrey Hepburn that our generation will see.
Katie really hasn't done much since she married Tom, people are basing their judgment on how classy she is by two or three movie openings, and sadly there's not a trace at all of the Katie those of us who loved her on Dawson's Creek knew. Angelina has really worked like hell to shed her "freaky girl" image and has become a wonderful humanitarian and started taking roles that are important to her (like A Mighty Heart).

You're comparing a teenager to a now 27 year old wife and mother??? Please

she was 24 when Dawson's Creek ended, and becoming a wife and mother doesn't necessarily turn someone from a vibrant young woman to a stepford wife in less than five years. Reese Witherspoon is still pretty much the same person today as she was 10 years ago before she had a baby and got married, just a slightly older and more mature version of herself. Kate Hudson is the same age as Katie and she's still the same for the most part. Katie resembles nothing today of how she was in 2003 when Dawson ended it's run. Just because you get married and have children doesn't automatically Stepford-ize you. There are plenty of celebrity women Katie's age who are mom's now, but yet they haven't changed every single thing about them (and no, I am not referring to "mom of the year" Britney).
I'm sorry if I offended your beliefs or what have you, but I believe $cientology is a joke and a sham and a money-making scheme, and a lot of people feel that way too

I don't see how she's a "Stepford" wife. I see nothing that she has don't that would put her in the category. She hasn't really done anything since DC went off the air. Believe me, I was an avid DC watcher, never missed an episode. I was all for Pacey and Joey and the whole true love thing. But since DC ended Katie wasn't in the spotlight I hadn't seen any interviews that she had done since DC ended. She wasn't in the spotlight making trouble like the other young starlet’s. Only when she started to date Tom Cruise.
And as for Scientology, I don't belief in it, but I hate it when someone past judgment of others over their beliefs, and from what I've heard Scientology has been around for many many years, so it's not new at all. When I married my husband I converted over to Catholicism.
waichingliu81 12-29-2007, 07:13 AM it's hard to believe that she'll be hitting the big 3-0 next year, she looks 22 or 23-ish to me
