I grew up watching Perfect Strangers during the late 1980s, so perhaps I'm biased, but I think this show was a true classic. Don't listen to people who tell you this is simply a show about a crazy immigrant. The chemistry between Mark Linn-Baker (as Larry) and Bronson Pinchot (as Balki) was a sight to behold. They could smoothly alternate between hysterically-funny tension and warm affection. The show had marvelously-timed physical comedy, and the writing was stronger than a lot of people will admit. When I watch the show, I liken it more to the feel and execution of a stage play than your typical sitcom.

Give it a try. And seasons one and two, as great as they are, are simply a warm-up for season three, when the duo began working at the fictional Chicago Chronicle.

Here is just a random sampling from the show:

I have a few episodes on video tape. I still laugh at it. It was a very funny
show, and the humor is timeless.

During the 80's I watched Perfect Strangers every week, never missed an episode. Recently I was happily watching (and taping it) when the ION network pulled the rug out. I would heartedly recommend Perfect Strangers -- it is very funny!!

This show is hilarious. I loved this show in the 80's and still love it today. Finally it's on dvd and I can't wait.

Don't be ridiculous, off course, the sit com is a true classic. It's true slapstick comedy that you never see these days.I know there would be some boring as hell people who probably think this is silly. They are the one that call some Drama a Sit Com,that has nothing to do with comedy, but has someone who makes a joke or two, like several on the air today,Comedy Drama, give me a break. This is a Real Sit Com.

Also about Some Good 80 Sit Coms, good choice with Newhart, maybe add Coach and definetly Cheers,Stay away from The Cosby Show,Family Ties,Webster,Silver Spoons,Growing Pains,Punky Brewster,Diff'rent Strokes,The Facts of Life Who's the Boss? and Alf. They all good shows but have aged and a more Family/Children type and avoid Designing Women.

I really recommend Sledge Hammer, totally awesome and Too Close for Comfort was good and Night Court but they only have the 1st Season, that isn't the best.

Married With Children was the late 80 also a classic while Dear John isn't available
