See I bought them today because I can't download and wanted to record this song off the radio so I could buy it on CD. What is your reason for buying them?

Well, I still have a radio that plays cassettes & CDs so if I want to tape off a CD or the radio. See, I told you I was so behind the times!!
Karen* 12-24-2007, 08:17 PM ...LMFAO.
I actually used those till 2004 when I got a CD burner on my computer though. Not to record music off the radio, just from other CDs.
Dean Winchester 12-24-2007, 08:23 PM I'm sure some people still record music off the radio. It's much like how despite DVD's and torrents, people still record stuff from television
TVFactFan 12-24-2007, 08:27 PM Well, I still have a radio that plays cassettes & CDs so if I want to tape off a CD or the radio. See, I told you I was so behind the times!!
Why would someone record music off a CD??
Dean Winchester 12-24-2007, 08:32 PM Why would someone record music off a CD??
could be you're making a mix tape or... (RIAA be damned) you're copying a CD you borrowed from a friend
TVFactFan 12-24-2007, 08:42 PM could be you're making a mix tape or... (RIAA be damned) you're copying a CD you borrowed from a friend
But who still LABELS and keeps a collection of cassette tapes in 2007?-lol My purpose for buying them was to get songs I don't know the tape of so I can buy the CD and add it to my CD collection.
Ireneparalegal 12-24-2007, 08:48 PM Solomon, after you record the song off the radio what do you do? Take it to the music store and play it for the clerk?
TVFactFan 12-24-2007, 08:51 PM Solomon, after you record the song off the radio what do you do? Take it to the music store and play it for the clerk?
I keep it on cassette until I talk to someone on the phone who may be able to help me
Ireneparalegal 12-24-2007, 08:59 PM Oh I see.
Brieannas21 12-24-2007, 09:37 PM Well the police still use them and I believe some reporters and Court Reporters

Had no Idea-lol
Corolla 12-24-2007, 10:36 PM I can't even remember the last time I've used a blank cassette tape.
TVFactFan 12-25-2007, 12:05 AM I can't even remember the last time I've used a blank cassette tape.
I'm pretty sure you used one in 1991-lol
dakert 12-25-2007, 12:06 AM Just recently I used a blank tape when I went to record a 45 single.
I have a record player, cd, tape combo--It works perfect for me
catlover79 12-25-2007, 12:16 AM This whole thread has just got me !

Solomon, I realize you are in the digital age but that does not mean every
single person is. Let people use whatever they want to use to record music.

I mean I don't care I would just find it funny that someone keep a music collection on Cassette tapes-lol
EmoJoe 12-25-2007, 01:53 AM LOL my mom's car still has a cassette tape only (it's from 1998 too, so its kinda odd), and up until a few years ago we still recorded on them on everything. we don't use cassettes anymore...only some old already-made ones occasionally. but we mostly listen to the radio.
i dont even listen to CDs anymore really, i just use my iPod.
EmoJoe 12-25-2007, 01:56 AM I'm sure some people still record music off the radio. It's much like how despite DVD's and torrents, people still record stuff from television
yeah i still use my VCR, because we have no DVR or Tivo and torrents take so ridiciulously long to load that its easier just to tape it. most netwroks offer their shows online now but i think its nicer to have it recorded so you could relax on the couch and watch it.
Kazza 12-25-2007, 05:12 PM My dad's car is a 2002 model and play cassettes only. :)

U have problems with the torrents too? They can be a pain. I use a DVD recorder a bit more than I use a VCR but still keep it.
Mr. Television 12-25-2007, 05:28 PM yeah i still use my VCR, because we have no DVR or Tivo and torrents take so ridiciulously long to load that its easier just to tape it. most netwroks offer their shows online now but i think its nicer to have it recorded so you could relax on the couch and watch it.
I still use my VCR more than I do my DVD player.
And yes I still have old cassettes I play. :D
phoebe7165 12-26-2007, 12:31 AM My dad's car is a 2002 model and play cassettes only. :)
My vehicle is also a 2002 and only plays cassettes.
EmoJoe 12-26-2007, 12:59 AM U have problems with the torrents too? They can be a pain. I use a DVD recorder a bit more than I use a VCR but still keep it.
some are really quick and easy, but others can literally take days. they can screw up your computer if you have too many, too. its really just so much easier to record them.
Stormtracker TF 12-26-2007, 02:18 AM LOL I haven't used one of those in at least 8 years. I didn't know ANYONE used those anymore.
ThomasE 12-26-2007, 02:21 AM Last year, I was using cassettes to record notes from Spanish Classes that I took at my college. I did not feel like buying one of those digital voice recorders.
PlayOn 12-26-2007, 02:42 AM For my cousins wedding this past summer, they wanted to honor the family members that are no longer with us. So they played 'Who'd You be Today' by Kenny Chensey. The kicker: A radio announcer came on before the song, announcing it. They recorded it off the radio. Why not just play the song from the CD?
Anways, the reason I still believe people still use tapes/cassettes is because they have no idea how to work a CD/DVD player. My aunt has a DVD/cassette player combo. And everytime she wants to watch a DVD, she calls on one of us to load it for her. You have to turn the channel once, and she forgets which way it goes.
theshark8777 12-26-2007, 12:23 PM You crack me up Solomon, you are complaining they had blank cassettes, yet you bought them? You should thank Rite Aid they are stuck in 1991!
Anyhow when I was little I had one of those video cameras that recorded on cassette tapes, anyone else here have it?
Dean Winchester 12-26-2007, 03:31 PM I honestly think some people fail to realize that there are ::::gasp:::: some people who don't have a computer, much less high-speed. One of my dad's friends is that way. He's in his 70's, no computer, no cell phone, none of that. Not everyone is technologically as advances. If you don't have a computer with a CD burner on it, blank cassette tapes are what you're going to use.
catlover79 12-26-2007, 04:31 PM I still use cassette tapes sometimes, as I do not have a CD player in my car.
Nighthawk76 12-26-2007, 05:22 PM I still use cassette tapes sometimes, as I do not have a CD player in my car.
:eek2: :faint:

Anyhow when I was little I had one of those video cameras that recorded on cassette tapes, anyone else here have it?
i wanted rite aid to have them but i wasn't sure because i was paying attention. so i was just joking around when i said it as 91 in rite aid because i didn't think those blank cassettes still made money
catlover79 12-26-2007, 11:05 PM Solomon, on New Year's Eve you're going to party like it's 1991!!
bingbangbaby 12-27-2007, 10:33 PM I keep it on cassette until I talk to someone on the phone who may be able to help me
 But all you really have to do is go to the station website and check their playlist...most stations list all songs if you just know about what time it played.
