What is an Ebbtide? It was used as titles for three different shows. 1st in the fifth season, called "Ebb Tide". 2nd in the sixth season, called "Ebbtide's Revenge". And 3rd in the seventh season, called "Ebbtide VI: Wrath of Stan".
The first two had to do with funerals but the 3rd didn't. For the third one, why did they name it Ebbtide VI, roman numeral 6. This was the third episode in season 7. Season 5, ebbtide is two words but one word for the rest. Anybody know?

Ebb tide is when the sea level goes lower and lower until it gets to low tide. It's also a song from Frank Sinatra. I don't see the meaning in the episode titles though.

Thank you Mav Fan92! At least I now know what it is. The reason for the titles is a good trivia question.

I dont' remember the episodes in question, but does it seem to have to do at all with Dorothy and Stan's relationship?

In the first two ebbtide episodes, the girls dealt with deaths of loved ones. Blanche lost her father, Big Daddy, and then Sophia and Dorothy lost Phil.
In season 7, ebbtide fits the hurricane theme and yet again, Stan invades Dorothy's life by sleeping with her sister.

Marc Sotkin (who wrote the episodes featuring 'Ebbtide' in the titles) posted an answer to this very question over at Couch Potatoes a few years ago: click for answer (http://www.couch-potatoes.co.uk/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=3564&view=findpost&p=51444).
