This was a great Christmas episode where the gang put on a show for the patients in a mental hospital. Any thoughts on the show?

It's too bad that on the DVD, they cut out Mrs. Babish's song. When I've seen this episode aired on cable, they only cut out part of her song. If people are watching the episode for the first time on DVD, they are probably wondering why Mrs. Babish is dressed the way she is. She's dressed in a silly outfit, wig, and hat that goes well with the song she sang. The title of this episode was originally "Christmas Eve at the Booby Hatch," but on the DVD and some episode guide listings, it is called "Oh Hear the Angels' Voices." I'm guessing the original title was not considered politically correct. AB 12-26-2007, 05:34 PM ^ LOL! Yeah that title probably wouldn't fly today. santaburger 12-27-2007, 02:40 AM Ahh, good ol' DVD cuts  I actually really enjoyed this episode as well... I thought the show handled the subject well, and the end result was a really sweet, festive episode. ethelmaepotter 03-02-2008, 01:24 PM I'm going to guess they cut Mrs. Babish's song because maybe they couldn't get the clearance rights to use it again? I don't think you could do an episode like this today because it would be considered "politically incorrect". I think some stations choose not to air this episode in syndication, too. What made the episode "politically incorrect", Ethel? (Then again, it's been like four years since I last saw the show. ) |
