I guess you learn something new everyday because I was just watching the episode Lucys Schedule which is in the first season. Anyway, At the end of the first act we see Lucy wearing Ethels brown dress with the stripes on the neck and pocket area. I just thought that was strange. Had that ever occurred before or ever again on the series?
I know Ethel ended up with Lucys handbag that she bought in Paris and ofcourse with her furniture (OBVIOUSLY)

Well, it WAS the same wardrobe department. But i doubt two friends would trade clothes in real life, LOL!

Women borrowing each other's clothes. Never happen!
A few years ago, I watched a segment on tv about the wardrobe department on Sex And The City. It was really something else, and very interesting. The lead wardrobe person took the audience on a tour.
All the clothes hangers had tags with the character's names on them. Entire walls had shelves with folded clothes, purses, shoe racks, jewelry, gloves, on and on, and every item was labeled with the character's name as well. Not the actor's name, the characters. I learned that characters do have their own clothes, but I'm sure they intermingle, in a pinch. This was in the 90s, which was many years after I Love Lucy. Still, there's always been a lot of coordination going on, to the point that several people are in charge.
I can imagine the coordination that went on with Dynasty, Knots Landing, Friends, or any show with well-heeled women, and men, for that matter.

Yeah, how could we expect the people on the show to have their wardrobe separate when the writers couldn't even keep track of any sort of continuity at all, one week, it's their 20th anniversary, three weeks later the Mertzs celebrate 25 years together, LOL!
