I wouldn't say that I hated it, but I always thought "Batman Begins" was a bit
overrated. I've only seen it once, but I thought it was too dark and the first
half was paced too slow. I know the title of the film is "Batman Begins" --
but I began to think that he would never become Batman! Once he did
become Batman, though, it was fairly entertaining.

I loved it, this is the REAL Batman origin, unlike that lousy mistake-filled movie with Keaton and Nicholson (The only thing I didnt like was that "Tumbler" :barf: I hope they bring in a REAL Batmobile (sleek and with fins) soon!).

It also didn't help the fact that most everyone I knew kept repeating the phrases from the movie over and over and over for months after it first was released. That got annoying.

Well, I didn't HATE it but I never understood why everyone went GA GA over Forrest Gump. To me it was OK, nothing special, but I never would have given it 4 stars --2 and a half at most.

a more recent example is Children Of Men. The reviews I read for it were all praising it, yet I saw it in the theater and was gravely disappointed and seriously considered leaving several times throughout the movie, tho I did remain for the entire film. I think the premise was interesting, but the execution had a lot to be desired, I didn't care about ANY of the characters outside of Julianne Moore's and her character doesn't even make it to 20 mins into the film.

Will Ferrill was funny in about three SNL skits, I never understood what he had that made him one of the "stars" of the show, I much would've rather seen Molly Shannon or Cheri Oteri from the late 90's SNL break out into huge movie stardom

Titanic
Pearl Harbor
National Treasure, make that ANYTHING with Nicholas Cage
All of the Batman movies except the one from the 80's with Jack Nicholson
A Walk To Remember
Anything with Jessica Simpson

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

E.T. I could never watch that dumb movie all the way through and never understood it's appeal.

Titanic. A 'musical' about people drowning? Give me a break.

Anything by Oliver Stone. The man is insane, his movies stink, except for Midnight Express.

I agree with E.T. and Stone, I never understood why people connected so much with E.T.

I will make a Stone exception with The Doors, I did think that was a great rock biopic, but most of his movies (except Midnight Express like you mentioned earlier) are pretentious garbage

Ummm, although there WAS a Titanic STAGE musical (in the 1960s, I think it was), the film Titanic wasnt a musical, although there is certainly music that's associated with it.

OMG!!! MIDNIGHT EXPRESS IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER!

It didn't stick with the book by Billy Hayes, but if there is ever a movie that will scare the bejesus outta you and make you think twice abt trying to smuggle drugs out of a country like Turkey, THIS IS THE MOVIE! The late Brad Davis did a superb job, one he should have received an Academy Award for.

What's more of a shame is how he had to lie abt his homosexuality and the fact he died of AIDs. It was thought he died of a drug overdose. When in fact, he and his wife and someone else "assisted" him to die. He didn't want to languish and suffer, so he decided to quicken his death by taking it into his own hands.

it's so sad when you think about him and Freddy Mercury, makes you wonder if they had gotten sick just a few years later if they'd still be around and relatively healthy (well, as healthy as one getss being HIV+) considering how much better treatment has gotten over time. We lost Brad and Freddy the same year Magic Johnson admitted he was HIV+ and Magic is still in great shape, looking same as always.
