Wait...you mean of all the Christmas shows ever shown on any sitcom?

Solomon, I guess you missed my response...

Did the critic choose this as HER FAVE CHRISTMAS episode of all time?

I like the ending scene when Penny calls Willona "mama" and the fact that Willona gets to officially adopt Penny, but the whole episode is not up there with my fave Christmas episodes of any sitcoms. As a matter of fact, I can't really say there is a Christmas episode of Good Times that I really like. I hate that one episode where they perform at Keith's work...:puke:

I actually kind of liked that episode at the cab garage. The Penny Christmas episode does have one redeeming quality - SANTA CLAUS LENNY!!!

I don't even feel like it is a Christmas episode. It just feels and looks like any other Good Times episode, except there is a Christmas tree in the background.

I think it has the Holiday feel once Naomi parents show up-lol

That scene for sure and also the tag scene when the family is standing there with presents and the Christmas tree is seen in the background. Other than that, it just doesn't feel like one. I guess there was no time to sing holiday songs.

Oh, you mean like any episode of the Cosby Show? LOL.

Solomon, you know why it was voted the best Christmans episode. It had a fuzzy peachy child that was the center of attention throughout the episode. I could have strangled that dude for robbing a little ten year old girl like that.

I see that you are still on your "I hate Penny" tirade. LOL. The only thing that I did not like about Penny was when she attempted to do the J.J. impersenation. I would want to turn down the volume when I would hear her go "DY-NO-MITE"! Never again! LOL.

Don't foget her ******** "mae west" impersonation

Actually I thought about that but I was too lazy to post anything. I could tolerate that a bit more.

Penny doing Mae West goes back to when she was a very little girl. Actually, Janet Jackson did that impersation. That is what made her stand out from her brothers. I think they appeared on the Andy Williams show, not sure, and she came out on stage and did that Mae West impersonation. She must have kept that going and was seen to do the Penny character.

Was Penny the character WITH Janet Jackson in mind or was the Penny character created and then they held auditions?

So you have no idea if the character was made with Janet in mind?

I think so because the Jacksons Variety show when Janet did her Mae west impressions aired the same year as season 5 of Good times
