Johnny Depp has big goals for his future: a normal life.

"I don't want to be a product," he tells January's Esquire. "I want to be totally outside and far away from all of it."

Could it happen?

"I'm sure it will be a possibility someday again. Maybe when I get old. They get tired of you," the 44-year-old Sweeney Todd star says.

Depp credits director Tim Burton – the pair have worked together on six films including Sweeney Todd - with his success: "My life is my life because of Tim. Definitely."

The actor received rave reviews for Sweeney Todd and recently talked of his low-key holiday plans

Brandon (Friendsfan) said the same thing earlier and I'd love to ask it here, what is the thing with Depp? IMO, he was good looking back in the 21 Jump Street/Cry Baby/Private Resort/Nightmare On Elm Street days, but IMO, he really grunged up and let himself go, but unlike Brad Pitt (who was also sporting that image for a number of years), Depp has yet to cut his hair and start looking like he showers more than once a decade. I think he's a great character actor and his work with Tim Burton is always consistant, but I don't see the "sexiest man alive" deal with him

Actually he has cut his hair now. See, I find Brad Pitt very unattractive.. to pretty boy for me. Johnny Depp just has that mysterious/dark/bad boy/rock 'n' roll/whatever else type thing going for him not to mention he has amazing features (such as the very defined, high cheek bones) and he barely ages. As for his "just got out of bed" look... I love it! A lot of women love it.. he's said a number of times that he "doesn't go with the crowd" and he dresses how he wants etc. He's true to himself. Some women really go for that. I do :) I think it gives him an edge and he pulls it off. Some don't agree. Others find totally different things about him sexy.
Wrap all that up with loads of talent and you got a man lots of women want! ;)

Eh, it just all comes down to a matter of opinion. Me? I'll take the man in a bright pink tutu.

I like Johnny Depp, he has a certain mystique that is appealing...I think this is an odd thing to say though, that he hopes the world will tire of him. Almost egotistical, don't you think? If he doesn't want it, then stop making movies I guess, but it seems odd to talk like he doesn't have a choice in the matter or that this is his cross to bear or something.
