Fox
Fox always tends to struggle in the fall and then comes on strong during the winter behind the strength of "American Idol" and "24." But the writers strike has put "24" on hold, and "Idol" is coming off a lackluster season. Also, the freshman crop hasn't shown much, if any, growth.
PASSING: "Back to You," with Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton, didn't become the hit the network expected, but still received a full-season order. The reality series "Kitchen Nightmares" cooked up a winner against strong competition on Wednesdays.
STRUGGLING: "K-Ville," the New Orleans cop drama, appears to be a goner. "The Next Great American Band," yet another offering from the "Idol" team, failed to hit the right notes.
FLUNKED OUT: Unscripted drama "Nashville" quickly fell off the prime-time map.
