What a IDIOT

He's many things, but not an idiot. Atlanta's quickly turned into a horrible nightmare, and it's just in his best interest to get out of dodge.

But why not until AFTER the season?

Just last night the MNF announcers said that the owner of the Falcons was totally committed to the head coach. I guess it wasn't mutual.

If I had Joey Harrinton, Chris Redman, and Byron Leftwich as my QB's I would leave too but AFTER the season is over-lol

Arkansas has scheduled a press conference for 11:30 PM TONIGHT where it's expected they'll make the formal announcement.

First Nick Saban and now Bobby Petrino...when are these owners going to realize that most of these college coaches aren'y cut out for the NFL? Petrino didn't even address his team or anything. He just quit on them. They're probably better off.

The guy got HELL this season with this whole mike vick thing. But I think he should've finished the season out he had a commitment to the falcons. He won't coach in the NFL again. Watching sportscenter I heard deangelo hall sound off about how mad he was he should be.

Petrino makes NICK SABAN look classy.

I hope, for Arkansas' sake, that the contract that Petrino signed requires a HUGE buy-out. If they didn't include a buy-out requirement, they're fools.

He's an exception to the rule though. How many college coaches that never coached in the NFL have gone on to great success?

I saw that news conference with Petrino down in Arkansas doing their hog call or whatever it was. I'm not a Falcon fan but that just angered me. The guy is a total jerk.

F*** Bobby I'M A QUITER PETRINO
Today on NFL countdown Emmit smith made a good point. It was brought up that well the Falcons had a bad record and all that mike vick stuff no one liked Petrino then Emmitt Smith said that in 89' the Cowboys went 1-15 it would've been really easy for Jimmy Johnson to just quit and go back into collage football and win a national championship and plus everyone thought hiring Johnson was a bad move all the players and fans loved and respected Coach Landry but HE DIDDN'T QUIT like this S*it for brains so called "coach" Petrino and look at Jimmy He ends up wining a couple super bowls in the 90's!

Very good point. I remember everyone bashing Johnson back then. I wasn't even a big supporter because of the way Coach Landry was treated. Well Jimmy proved me wrong and everyone else too. Jimmy had something that Petrino doesn't have and that's class.

In defense of Bobby, I wonder if Jimmy had any head cases like "Ron Mexico" during his first year with the Cowboys.
