Anyone who knows me is probably aware that I'm a really big fan of both Blair Warner and Lisa Whelchel. Blair/Lisa is such a beautiful woman with a wonderful smile so warm that it could melt ice. During the last two seasons of The Facts of Life, Blair was in my opinion as gorgeous as a woman can get. I also loved the way Blair dressed. She always look really nice. Women who wear jeans, a t-shirt and sneakers everyday just isn't attractive to me.

My love of Ms. Whelchel goes way beyond her obvious good looks though. I have a great amount of respect for her as a person. Lisa comes across as a warm person with a big heart. Also, like Lisa, I'm a born again Christian and Lisa's wonderful book called The Facts of Life and Other Lessons My Father Taught Me played no small part in my returning to the church and my faith. I think that Lisa being such a great human being really came through in the character of Blair. Even though on the surface Blair may have seemed shallow and self-centered, in her heart she was really a carring person who truly loved her friends. If asked to explain why Blair is such a great character, I am always reminded of the scene in the hospital in "Less Than Perfect", after Blair's accident where Jo and Casey are talking about Blair and why they both love her even though she is shallow, self-centered, vain and always wants things to go her own way. Jo's response is "Because she's Blair and there is no one else like her." :) Same goes for Lisa. :)

I bought The Facts of Life & Other Lessons My Father Taught Me when it came out in 2001. I was still in college then and bought it at the campus bookshop. :D Lisa is very sincere about her faith, and it took a lot of guts to stand up to the FOL producers and refuse to do that particular episode. I also enjoy the story of how she and her husband Steve got together.

A couple of years ago, I ordered her Advent-ure of Christmas book through her website and she autographed it, too! She wrote my name and everything. The games, stories and recipes in the book are fun - I can't wait to try some of them with my little nephew when he gets a bit older.

As far as Blair, she truly was an entertaining character. Her love/hate relationship with Jo was golden. I love the looks on Blair's face whenever Jo would make some wisecrack at her. You know, that shocked speechless look. I think the first sign that showed Blair really cared about Jo was stopping her elopement to Eddie in Season 2. Blair and Jo really were best friends, even though they'd be the last to admit it!!!

I v watched "less than perfect" but i v noticed they tend to cut parts of episodes so i v always missed the part when JO speaks to CASEY about her LOVE for BLAIR: why can t they just release the rest of the seasons?!
I m also a big fan of the BLAIR character & i haven t met LISA WHELCHEL but she seems like a good person......:)
