Anyone who knows me is probably aware that I'm a really big fan of both Blair Warner and Lisa Whelchel. Blair/Lisa is such a beautiful woman with a wonderful smile so warm that it could melt ice. During the last two seasons of The Facts of Life, Blair was in my opinion as gorgeous as a woman can get. I also loved the way Blair dressed. She always look really nice. Women who wear jeans, a t-shirt and sneakers everyday just isn't attractive to me.
My love of Ms. Whelchel goes way beyond her obvious good looks though. I have a great amount of respect for her as a person. Lisa comes across as a warm person with a big heart. Also, like Lisa, I'm a born again Christian and Lisa's wonderful book called The Facts of Life and Other Lessons My Father Taught Me played no small part in my returning to the church and my faith. I think that Lisa being such a great human being really came through in the character of Blair. Even though on the surface Blair may have seemed shallow and self-centered, in her heart she was really a carring person who truly loved her friends. If asked to explain why Blair is such a great character, I am always reminded of the scene in the hospital in "Less Than Perfect", after Blair's accident where Jo and Casey are talking about Blair and why they both love her even though she is shallow, self-centered, vain and always wants things to go her own way. Jo's response is "Because she's Blair and there is no one else like her." :) Same goes for Lisa. :)
