Post anything relating to Christmas bonuses.

I remember getting great Christmas bonuses when I was working. I never expected them, I figured if the boss wanted to give them, hey that's great. I remember this attorney I worked for gave me an additional 3 days off WITH PAY. I already had the week off for the holidays. Along with the cash Christmas bonus she gave, that made for one memorable Christmas that year. ;) :D

Last year, I gave out Christmas bonuses to the guys who work on the property I own. I have a maintenance guy who does all the repairs and a gardener who does a lovely job with cutting the grass and maintaining the landscape overall. However I had many expenses in the last three months related to large repairs that cost well over $8,000. If Christmas were three months away, I could give out bonuses, but I can't. Property taxes are also due, so that just cuts out any chance of bonuses for these guys. I will buy them each a turkey and for New Years I will give them each a gift card for a local restaurant.

My husband gets his bonus the week after Christmas, which annoys me, but I'll take it. When he had his own business, he used to give his workers $500 each for Christmas, unless they were new. He has six guys working for him, so it wasn't too much. They worked hard all year and deserved it.

I have a friend who manages an office for a consulting firm. She got a $6,000 bonus last year. The owner also closes down the business for a week in the summer, and takes everyone on vacation to one of the Islands, spouses included. My friend coordinates it all, and it costs him 70 grand.

Some years we'd get a few days off with pay as our Christmas Bonus. But one year all they gave us was a 6 pack of Beer and a T-shirt with the company logo on it. I guess that must have been a bad year for the company, it was certianly a bad year for the workers.

We don't get Xmas bonuses but we did get something really great during the year the year. In early July everybody got an across the bd $3,200 bonus--I didn't know this was going to happen so it was a great surprise... Xmas in July!

Bonus? What's a bonus? We don't even get free food. Oh, but we get a week and a half off with no pay!

At my previous job, I got chocolates I didn't like and some of that promotional crap they give away to everyone for advertising. Not much better in hindsight.

All year long I've been anticipating a large sum for Christmas. All year long they've been saying how great a year it's been.

Thanksgiving, we lost $40,000. Now instead of a bonus, we get to take an extra day off to try to climb out of this hole.

I suppose I should know better than to hold high hopes when it comes to money.

Eh, that's the corporation.
