I have been without cable for 24 hours and have been SICK. Thank God for the Internet because I would really be depressed. I think having no CABLE bothers me more because it's so connected to my Internet. So using the Internet without cable is like

"Driving in a Car with Four Flat Tires" The web is not the same without cable

Internet service would be the hardest for me to deal with. I have directv and if it went out, I could easily live without it.

Not having the Internet would bother me the most - no IM, no email, no message boards, no YouTube, etc.,.
If the cable was out, I could just watch DVDs until it's back on.

I need it for eBay, Can't do much selling without internet access unless I do it at my Brother's home. I would also go out of my mind if I couldn't read my E-mails or visit the message boards I post at.

I don't really care about tv, but I do care about the Internet. My husband on the other hand, if the tv ever went out during a playoff game, he'd flip.

no internet for me- i could live without tv because here in the uk there is hardly anything good on anyway these days, but when it comes to the web and the computer, that's a different matter. i can visit this site, imdb and you tube others to name, interact with people like yourself online, send messages, listen to music, watch tv etc

I haven't had cable TV since August, and I'm fine with that (except I'd like to watch House soon). Internet service... I would hurt someone if I absolutely had to go without internet for whatever reason. It's my lifeline, pretty much.

Internet. There is TV that I'm interested in, but not on many channels.

I would say tv. because if the cable goes out i can still watch dvds. but if the power goes out then theinternet and cable would be gone. we had our power cut off couple month ago. it was a thunder strom. I can live without the net. i'm more of a tv persons.

I agree 100%, There is no back up plan for the WEB, but with the cable going out you can always turn to DVD's

I would rather have no cable service than no internet service.

No internet service. Hands down! I rely on it for so much.

I canceled my cable a year and a half ago and I've been happier for it. I can live without tv. More than that; I thrive without it!

No Internet Service would be harder. Hubby cancelled our cable several months ago when he bought that stupid motorcycle. So we only get ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox & the CW with a roof top antenna and I've gotten used to it, sort of. lol!

It would be the internet. I've been without it a few times the last few years and it drives me batty. On the other hand if the cable went out on Sunday during football like it did to Solomon, it would bother me a lot.

I think someone should send this thread to the tv writers and producers to show them nobody misses their shows.

Reception is one of the biggest reasons why I hated being without cable way back. It really aggravated me that I'd have to practically stand the antenna on my head to have ALL the channels come in decently without having to get up and adjust it. It also annoyed me to no end that some stations didn't come in too well, and a couple, barely at all. It's pretty much why I missed out on The WB for most of the time in the late '90's through 2001 when I lived in Indiana.

No internet would be my pick, I hardly watch anything on TV other than old TV shows, so I wouldn't miss tv all that much.

If I had to choose between the two, I could more easily do without cable (I only have basic cable) -- and I can give the reason in two words: writers'
strike. If I want to watch reruns, I have a house full of video tapes to
choose from. But I've become addicted to the Internet, esp. message
boards like this one. I belong to two other forums (both are animation
sites). And I'd also miss my e-mail ... but not the ton of spam I get every day!

I have dealt with both, but I would have to say internet would be the worst of the two.

Either could be equally as annoying depending on the situation. Luckily that doesn't happen here too often these days.

What did we do BEFORE THE INTERNET?
Obviously we lived without it before. ;)

If my cable were out, so would my internet. I have DSL cable.

My vote goes to "NO INTERNET SERVICE". To me the Internet is the gift that keeps on giving since there's so much out there!

Plus, I don't have cable and haven't had it since November 2001 when I moved to a new apartment. I had to get rid of something to make up for the rent increase!

I'd rather be without cable. Actually I've only had satellite TV for a few years - before then just 2 local channels. The internet, however, I definitely can't live wthout.

When I move to STJ I have no plans in even getting cable. My large TV on DVD collection will be enough as long as there's internet access.

For me, it's harder to deal without internet service.

i go insane without internet access. it wasnt until this year that i realized how unhealthy my dependency on it is.

i could pretty much live without cable. i've rarely "watched tv" since i moved into my dorm in august. south park and family guy are the only shows i really keep up with and i watch them online.

I have DVDs. So I'd suffer more without internet. The minute it went out, I know I'd have to look something up.
