John Madden is knowledgeable and has a strong voice.

Here in Boston, we have a former Red Sox player, Jerry Remy. He's now the color commentator for the Sox. He's a big celebrity around here. He's called 'The RemDawg'. He has a hot dog stand outside of Fenway Park, surprisingly called, RemDawgs.

Back in the day, Boston had Curt Gowdy. He kept the game interesting.

Johnny Most was the voice of the Boston Celtics for decades. He was a legend, and had a very unique voice. Kinda of a deep smoker's voice. He was real hot ticket too.

I loved Chick Hearn, the late voice of the Los Angeles Lakers. Seeing him and hearing his voice WAS the Lakers.

Just keep Dennis Miller out of the MNF booth.I like the man and his political views, but not as a football announcer.

My husband can't stand Dan Marino, the ringless wonder, because he never gives props to Tom Brady, at all. Two years ago, Brady made a short video asking Marino, "Why, why.....what do I have to do...?" It was humorous, but he was making a point.

I can't stand what I call the Cacklers - Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and that Fox crew. They giggle, laugh at stupid things. Just obnoxious. I have to leave the room sometimes. I like these guys individually, but together, they sound like a bunch of cackling hens.

I hate sportscasters who areso obviously "homers" especially if they are on a national broadcast....take Bob Cole, the voice of Hockey Night in Canada, he's doing national broadcasts on the national network CBC , yet, is SO partial to the Toronto Maple Leafs youd think it was their own network! And worse, his colour man gives comment after comment about the Leafs as if there wasnt another team on the ice!
Another example is Rick Generette (Or as I call him, Rick Degenerate :lol:), the voice of the Buffalo Sabres; no matter how badly the Sabres are playing, in his eyes, they should be winning, even when they are being outshot badly; and if the other team has the puck, hes barely interested, yet, the second the Sabres TOUCH the puck, he begins to yell at the top of his lungs........GOD I hate him!! :mad: A good sportscaster pays attention to BOTH teams!

I've done that too: "Hey, there's 2 teams on the ice!"...although, I use that line more often, when I'm yelling at the TV, about the refs! :lol:

Joe Buck pissed me off when he jumped all over Randy Moss for his fake mooning celebration 3 years ago. He blubbered on about how 'disgusting' it was, and how unfortunate that it was aired on national TV.

Joe Buck was unavailable for comment after the game, as he was off to film another commercial to promote Budweiser beer.

I know if we lost, he wouldn't watch the replay. He won't even watch the 5th quarter after a losing game. 5th quarter, is that what's it's called everywhere?

Another thing that bugs me is young HOCKEY broadcasters who use BASKETBALL terms to attract the "kids" They use terms like "the D" instead of "the duhfense" (proper Canadian pronunciation) and "stretch pass" instead of the PROPER "Breakaway pass".....heck, one time, I even heard one radio caster say "he DRIBBLES* the puck up the ice!!!!!!" Enough with the B-ball terms, you jerks!!!!!!!! :mad: :mad: :mad:

He's done that with baseball, but with the Patriots, he says he doesn't want to hear it, from anybody. Monday night, he wanted to jump inside the tv screen and strangle that thin guy with the beard...what's his name? He was just loving the Ravens and wanted the Pats to lose so bad.

In Boston, we have a show called, The Fifth Quarter. It's when the game is over, and they have post-game press interviews with the coach and the QB, panel discussions, things like that.

Really yes! There will never be another Chick Hearn he was the best and will always be the best R.I.P.
Vin Scully also a favorite of mine his voice just brings the game to life.
Al Michaels and John Madden Rock as well. I like Michaels expressions and Madden's analysis.
Howard Cosell as well those interviews with Ali are just classics and his defining moment when he announced John Lennon's death I saw video of that he delievered it well with some moving words.

I like Dick Enberg probably the best. John Madden & Al Michaels do a great job too. I can't stand Chris Collingsworth, he hates the Steelers and can never give them any credit. Shannon Sharpe is terrible I can't understand a word he says when he talks. Dan Dierdorf just plain gets on my nerves.

I think that the worst thing about all the newer sportscasters, they all sound the same, regional accents are now pretty much relegated to NASCAR announcers.......We'll never hear the likes of a Mel Allen (Baseball) , a Foster Hewitt or A Danny Gallivan (both hockey) again!

That's what I do whenever the Indians or Browns play. I'd much rather hear the play by play and commentary by the home folks, anyway. We have a great announcer in Tom Hamilton (Indians). He is so into each game, and makes them exciting no matter what's going on. I'm surprised no one's mentioned Harry Caray!

I've never been crazy about Brent Musberger; he's the only one I can really think of right now under the dislike category. I'm sure I'll think of others later. :lol:
