I can't help with either of the above, but just wanted to add that I recorded the last week or so of the Donahue show including the last episode. He was taking a long look at the past. I think the entire week looked at past shows if I remember right.

I have some older Donahue shows from the early to late 70's on 3 quarter inch. I think I missed his final show, he seemed to have left television at the time with a lack of fanfare. There would be no Oprah without Phil Donahue in my opinion.
