View Full Version : Who remembers the Christmas classics?
happysnowman 11-30-2007, 05:20 PM Did anyone else ever see the Christmas Classics on TV when they were younger?! How many remember sitting down with the family to watch Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, or Santa Claus is Coming to Town?
This year, while the children are waiting for the big man in red to arrive with presents, why not treat them to the same holiday classics you enjoyed when you were younger? The Christmas Classics box set includes 7 stories (Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and more!) and also has a CD packed with all of your favorite Christmas tunes, including "A Holly Jolly Christmas". Look for the Christmas Classics Limited Edition box set next time you're at the store and share the holiday spirit with your family this season! (I work with Classic Media and can guarantee that you'll absolutely love this series, so check it out!)

yea, but on TV they're all shredded, sadly.
(esspesially the older ones, like "Rudolph", "The Grinch", and "Mr. Magoos Christmas Carol"-some said they saw that one once on USA, or ABC Family, or something and it looked like it was hacked to bits!!!)
treky 12-01-2007, 02:38 AM that's why I'm glad that I have "MR. MAGOOS CHRISTMAS CAROL" and "HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS" (the classic animated one-not that godawful live-action movie) on VHS, and I'm thinking of buying "A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS".
comedyfreak 12-01-2007, 06:04 AM I have the classics so I don't have to worry about it.
tv star collector 12-01-2007, 09:23 AM There were so many commercial interruptions on ABC's telecast of "How the
Grinch Stole Christmas" this week that I'm surprised they had time to show
ANY of the cartoon! I'm glad that I taped it many years ago, when they didn't have a commercial about every five minutes.
OH Nuts! 12-01-2007, 11:46 AM When I was a kid I went GA GA over Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol.
Thank you Jim Backus, up above, for the voice of Mr. M, a great cartoon characterl

now I'm glad I didn't watch it; and I bought it on VHS a few years ago-and it's UNEDITED!!   Same with my copy of "MR. MAGOOS CHRISTMAS CAROL".

I have "MR. MAGOO'S CHRISTMAS CAROL" on both VHS and DVD. (By the way, it was the very first made-for-TV cartoon special (1962). I remember
watching it on NBC when it first aired. The DVD includes a short featuring
Gerald McBoing-Boing and Magoo together (the only time they appeared
together aside from his only speaking role in "MAGOO'S CHRISTMAS CAROL"
as Tiny Tim), and it came with a rare comic-book adaptation of the special.
happysnowman 12-03-2007, 08:03 PM Wow, it looks like a lot of you sure do love your Christmas specials! And why wouldn't you? Because I love them too! I can't wait to spend Christmas with my family watching all the classics I grew up on. I'm getting a few to give as presents to the rest of my family and friends too. Does anyone else plan on getting the Christmas Classics boxed set? If you guys can't find them in your stores, then you can just go to http://www.classicmedia.tv and order them! http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa62/Designstarphotos/ChristmasClassics_DVDset.jpg

happysnowman 12-11-2007, 05:27 PM So true! I think it's jsut one of those things that will stand the test of time, I mean you have to admit that these cartoons are pretty iconic. It's only 14 days till Christmas and I can't wait! I should be getting My boxed set in the mail anyday now. Anyone else order them or plan on buying it for xmas? They make great presents. Someone mentioned to me that they found it at Costco for around $20, that's a steal! Or you can always just go on to http://www.classicmedia.tv Merry Christmas everyone!
