This is a long shot but I was wondering if anybody has a complete UNEDITED version of TWY which is in good quality? Being from the UK, we used to get TWY on Channel 4 and it was always shown unedited even with the occasional intro scene before the main titles.

All, I keep finding that the episodes of the TWY on youtube that have been butchered or have advertisements for other shows thrown in whilst the show is being broadcast which proves quite annoying at times - I think these are most probably from the 7 disc and 15 disc sets but ideally I'm searching for a set that has been made by a perfectionist who wants the show in its entirety.

I do have every episode unedited even with the orginal commercials in between

(see how corny and stupid alot of commercials are in the USA and if you look close enough you will say that actor or actress plays or played on so and so show or movie.) to bad they are on VHS and not on DVD.

Back then there was only VHS to record on. If I get them put on DVD I will let you know.

I've seen the 12-disc and 17-disc sets floating around, and both were from the ABC Family airings. ABC Family tends to butcher TV show re-runs, so I can see why you'd be looking for the original. I don't know of any set floating around that has the original airings. It would have taken a mighty bit of foresight to tape all the episodes as they aired. Even if someone did that, as the above poster brought up, there's the whole thing of converting to DVD.

The Wonder Years has become less in demand recently, so you could probably get a 12/17 disc set for a reasonable price if you're willing to accept the ABC Family airings. If not, you might be searching for a long time for the original airings.

I actually have the whole season (except I can't seem to find my one disc in the collection) in a box set in dvd. i got it off ebay for a not bad price. If i can figure out how to copy dvds and all that, and I find the one missing disc in the 6 disc collection I have, I'll burn and provide a link/send em to anybody that wants it.

I'm also trying to track down original, unedited DVD's

It seems TNN was pretty good at keeping the episodes uncut.

Not sure about Nick at Nite or iON

I know abc family butchered and sensored a lot of the eps.

Anyone with unedited original airings please advise.

Are there any DVD collections out there that aren't bootleg? When are they going to start selling them in retail?

Actually I might be interested in these (the original VHS form that you have). Are you willing to sell?

Fox is completely quiet on the subject, (last year they said it was on the schedule). They own the show but acquiring music rights was always considered a major stumbling block. Other shows have been released on DVD with replacement music, but as a WY fan, I want the original music, believing it was a major component of the show.
Some opinions are that downloads are the wave of the future and it does represent a possible solution if you charge $ 1.99 per episode as is the norm.
That makes the Wonder Years collection cost about $ 228.85 per set, possibly making the music rights issue a moot point. Quality of the downloads would be the only issue.
On the other hand, maybe we will get lucky and Fox will soon announce a Wonder Years collection, with all original music, on Blu-Ray.

just download the whole series on a torrent site, for free. You can buy bootleg sets, but it's the same thing as dling the whole series off a site, just it takes alot longer but it's worth it. It's going to take a while for TWY to come out, so download the torrent.
