For those of you who have seen/heard it...isn't it hilarious after knowing the lyrical versions of the theme so well? "Doo-dee doo-dee doo-doooo." Did they later think of lyrics based off those doos and dees? That'd make it even funnier.

I've seen that pilot!! That theme song was sooooooooooooo weird & funny at the same time. The three room mates were sitting on the couch with goofy grins on their faces.

That was like Three's Company in bizarro world....spooky but funny at the same time.

Yeah, their face is the funniest thing. "Okay John, for the next 5 seconds, look somewhere in front of you with a huge smile as if you're laughing for no reason". Hard to believe the directors couldn't think of something better.

The second pilot opening credits comes across as even cheaper than the first one!

It's interesting how the added words and the slightly revamped ovening bars change the tune from evoking hippie-time early/mid seventies to really being something in the disco/lounge-suit period that came after.

I actually prefer the first season theme--it has a sunny tropical feel to it :D

Yay that. But not the way they redid it in seasons 2-3. Something subtle about the voice inflections...
I also really like the version of the closing credits in seasons 1-2. Both music and the beach scene.

Season 3 had those silly disco drums as the intro!
I also enjoy the closing theme music from seasons 1-2.
I never saw seasons 1-3 on DVD--are all the themes in the proper place?
I know for the reruns on Nick, they would play season 1's theme on several season 2 episodes (I don't recall if the original ABC episodes ran like that).
