Sometimes a show's lackluster final season can be made up with it's finale.

Wings - The final season was a lot sillier than previous seasons. Most fans don't like it as much as the first seven. However, the series finale is one of my all-time favorites. It dealt with personal sacrifice, first from Joe and then from Brian.

That '70s Show - The final season was the worst, what with Eric and Kelso gone. Besides that, the writing just wasn't the same. The final episode didn't "make up" for the season, but it was a good episode. It brought back Eric and Kelso and celebrated the new year (1980).

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - The final season wasn't terrible, however, it wasn't on par with the previous seasons. But I really enjoyed the finale. It was a classic episode and one of my favorites.

Empty Nest - The final season was pretty bad. Kristy McNichol had left the show and was replaced first by Lisa Rieffel and then by Estelle Getty, playing her Sophia character from "The Golden Girls." To make it worse, Marsha Warfield was in the cast. I can't stand her. However, the final episode was great, and it even brought back Kristy McNichol and showed Harry Weston moving away.

Night Court - I may be the only one who liked the finale, but I do. The final season, however, wasn't so hot.

What are some of yours?

Newhart had a so-so final season, but the FINALE was the best final episode ever! I remember watching it the first time it aired with my mom and grandma. When Suzanne Pleshette appeared in bed next to Bob Newhart, the two of them just collapsed in laughter. Since I'd never seen Bob's previous show (and because I was only 10), I didn't get the joke. Now, I love both shows and get the joke. The dream was Bob Newhart's wife's idea!!

Happy Days had a great final episode as well, with Ron Howard returning and Joanie & Chachi's wedding. Howard's toast to end the show has always choked me up. He looks to the camera and says, "Thank you all for being part of our family. Here's to Happy Days!" :D

M*A*S*H The final season was a mishmash of unused scripts and even a few shows that had been shelved previously, including that HORRIBLE bowling episode, but, the two hour series finale movie was brilliant!

I also loved both the NEWHART and HAPPY DAYS finales. Perfect endings.

the last season of Charmed was god-awful (I hated the addition of Kaley Cuoco to the cast) but the two part series finale was actually pretty damn good, even tho I still have a problem to this day that there were no pictures with Prue (Shannen Doherty) on the wall during the montage of pictures at the end of the show. You couldn't just pretend three seasons of the show didn't happen and that Paige was always part of the show/family when the sisters didn't even know she existed until she was about 25.

Who's the Boss? - only saw a few episodes here and there of the final season, but I didn't like much of what I saw. Although, the final episode should have gone down as one of the greatest inhistory, especially that final scene.

Mad About You - some may say they hated the idea of the finale, but I loved it. Especially after the final season was very weak and poorly rated.

Roseanne - the last season was so-so IMO, but I loved the finale, even if I am the only one here who agrees.

Boy Meets World - the last season was about as horrible as you can get. Not many good episodes, bad writing, bad storylines, and horrible ratings (I don't even think it was in the top 100 for an ABC veteran show). The final episode, however, put all the elements of the show into one, and I loved that.
