View Full Version : Let it Snow....?
swedeace 11-23-2007, 04:50 PM Are you already getting snow where you live?
It's been such a crazy record this week! It was a record high just 2-3 days ago making it warmer than usual for a November. Then, we get some rain and snow drizzles last night during our Thanksgiving meal while I was over at my uncle's and aunt's house. Today, it has been really cloudy. The east mountains are very snow-capped.
I took a nap, and I look out my window. Gah! It's coming down some more! I have a feeling it's going to start sticking to the ground. And, I have to be at work in about two hours and 15 minutes from now. I hope the snow will ward off shoppers so that we can close earlier. I don't want to drive home too late at night if it's snowing more. Now, this is bizzare. We are having more snow than usual in November. How funny how we are having snow a few more times before my birthday. I don't remember the last time it's done this. Wow, oh, wow....
Normally, I wouldn't have minded if I was just staying indoors and had nothing to do later tonight. On the other hand, I am concerned about driving conditions since I am scheduled to work until midnight tonight. *gulp*
PZelda 11-23-2007, 05:14 PM Yeah, it's snowing here as well. It FINALLY snowed for the first time sometime last week... but of course it was all gone by the time I woke up. More snow fell last night/yesterday morning, and it's snowing again. Light, pretty flurries. I like it. :)
Mikado 11-23-2007, 05:14 PM yes we have snow, not much mind you, I remember that often in my childhood we aready had 6 inches or more by late Nov......the snow came very late this year, we still had leaves on the trees 2 weeks ago!

Ditto for my childhood. In fact, I broke my collarbone in a sledding accident over Thanksgiving break when I was in third grade -- this was in November of 1993, when there was already a VERY sizable amount of snow on the ground. Now? Not that I want to go sledding, but just saying I haven't been able to go sledding in November for about the past... oh... eight or so years? Something like that. We've always gotten a sizable amount of snow in December, but we never know when it'll hit. Sometimes we get it before Christmas. Sometimes it doesn't come until before New Year's. Last year, we had a HUGE snowstorm on December 30th, and it continued to snow a lot on NYE.
And you know what - this is the first time in a VERY LONG time it's actually SNOWED here around Thanksgiving. It's nothing like my childhood, but it's SNOW.
Stormtracker TF 11-23-2007, 05:34 PM We got our first snow yesterday morning, just in time for Thanksgiving. :D
catlover79 11-23-2007, 05:43 PM Yes! I had to shovel snow off the car for the first time this season before going to work.
Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 11-23-2007, 08:06 PM We got our first snowfall last weekend! It was soo pretty. 20 minutes away from us where my grandma lives got flurries, but where we live (up in the mountains) got 4-5 inches of snow! It melted two days later when it rained though :( I can't wait for it to snow again.
Cactus Jack 11-23-2007, 08:11 PM I live where snow doesnt exist :(

PlayOn 11-24-2007, 12:29 AM No. But in Illinois, I heard they got some snow. Since we're talking about memories: I remember one Christmas Eve it snowed and that, sadly, was my grandmothers and greatgrandmothers last Christmas. It was, like in '03-'04. :(
freshprinceofLA 11-24-2007, 01:11 AM I live in LOS ANGELES damn I sure wish it snowed here :(
EmoJoe 11-24-2007, 02:10 AM we had a little bit of snow last week. none of it stuck or anything, just wet, rainy-snow. we usually get our first major snow in early-mid December, and then in January it gets more severe and consistent. although it hardly snowed at ALL last year...
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 11-24-2007, 02:31 AM It did last week and it is a little bit right now, but nothing major. I really want it now when it's the Christmas season because by the time spring comes I want it gone.
swedeace 11-24-2007, 12:50 PM So, here's an update from yesterday:
It was flurrying quite a bit when I created this thread yesterday, but nothing stuck to the ground. Some areas (like rooftops) did stick a little. The sun came out in the evening. It's sunny again today, as if there was no sign of snow down the city. There is a lot of snow up in the mountains, though.
No snow here in my area yet, its been cold enough at night for it though.
Ohio8 11-24-2007, 10:38 PM No, but there was a light snowfall in Cleveland yesterday.
dawsongirl 11-25-2007, 12:23 AM Yeah. It's nice this time of year, but after New Years', it's no longer fun. Bring on spring.
It snowed here for the first time this season on Wednesday.

He's been living in Florida since August 2nd, I think. :) (I remember that, because I left for Minnesota the day before he did) And as far as I know, no, he didn't move for college - he moved with his family to Florida.
