1974's Twas the Night Before Christmas is def. my favorite!! I wish they'd show it again, but I have it on DVD, so all's good I guess.

I also like
Mickey's Christmas Carol
The Chipmunk Christmas

There was this one special I saw where there was a toy tiger that came to life...it wasn't a cartoon, though. I just don't remember what it was called or anything else about it.

Oh, and I loved the Christmas special where the muppets and the Sesame Street characters all came together and the Swedish chef cook them dinner! It was super cute!

I just watched Rudolph tonight. Anyone else think the Misfit Toys were pretty cool? I like the cowboy who rides an ostrich and the water gun that fires jelly.

Where can I find "Ziggy's Gift" or that "For Better or for Worse" Christmas Special?

I taped "Ziggy's Gift." It first aired on CBS on Dec. 1, 1982. Tom Wilson wrote the story, and Richard Williams (the guy who brought Roger Rabbit to the screen) animated it (and voiced the Crooked Santa). Wilson and his son, Tom Jr., did the voices of some incidental characters. Harry Nillson sang the title song. Interestingly, Ziggy doesn't speak in this cartoon, his only animated appearance (to my knowledge).

"For Better or For Worse: The Bestest Present" debuted (in the U.S.) on HBO in December, 1986. I found it on VHS in a mail order catalog (but I forget exactly which one). The special was produced in Canada, for Canadian television. I assume all the actors were also Canadians, as I don't recognize
any of their names; although the children Michael and Elizabeth ("Lizzy") may
have been voiced by creator Lynn Johnston's own kids as the actors' names are Aaron Johnston and Katherine Johnston.

Those are all classics. They have stood the test of time and will probably be
around forever. The Christmas television season wouldn't be complete without 'em.
