You have to SPEND MORE MONEY because you need NEW CLOTHES, DAMM!!

I have 3 pair of pants right now that be falling off of me every single time I wear them and it's not in my budget right now to buy three pair of pants. That would be well over a $100 and that's my reward for losing weight, SPENDING MORE MONEY-lol

Congratulations on your weight loss, Solomon. Your reward is feeling and looking better, as well as a great benefit to your health. Just tighten your belt for now. When you've lost all the weight, you're going to have to buy a few pairs of pants. Don't go overboard though, as I've heard over and over that 95% of people who lose weight, will gain it all back. You can't think of it as a diet, but to as a change in lifestyle, forever.

Try going to Salvation Army or Goodwill - you can usually find some gently worn clothes cheap. Just a thought...:D You should be proud of yourself for losing so much weight, Solomon!!

Great job Solomon!!!!!!!!! :cheer: Really, it is all abt your health, you will always be Solomon no matter your weight is.

I think you can try your local thrift store to buy some pants temporarily. What I mean is Janice is right, your weight may go down some more or you may go up a bit in weight, so it is not good to go out and buy pants (new ones) since you haven't established your weight yet. You will know when you are at a steady weight and then you can buy two new pants a month until you get the amount of new pants you need. It is so well worth losing your weight Sol, you will feel so much better overall. KEEP IT UP!!!

Yes I do, I think one adjustment I made in my diet was eating subway for dinner every night of the work week but not the entire 12inch sub, just the 6 inch roll.

That's great!!!! What is your goal? How much do you plan on losing? My guy lost 20 pounds in four months and he was so damn happy. Once you start losing the weight, it becomes so much easier.

My weight is consistent now, and I'm actually thinner than I'd prefer. I never thought I'd hear myself say that, lol. Before though, I had three sizes going on in my closet, Thin, Medium and Bigger, lol. I never threw away my bigger sizes after a successful diet.

I think I gained 5 pounds on our mini-vacation. I remember when I was so damn skinny that I actually had to drink protein drinks to gain weight. My metabolism was just working overtime.

Same here Irene. The only reason I don't have to watch my weight now is because of this year of lousy health...but yeah, I think on our 40th birthday, our metabolism slams on the brakes.

Tomorrow is going to be a bit of a difficult day for me. I've mentioned before that I've struggled with anorexia in the past. However, I still get nervous eating Thanksgiving dinner with family. I don't like eating in front of others, anyway. Because of my work and church schedules, I get my own meals and eat on my own time. This is an exception, obviously. I still have mixed feelings when it comes to food. But I will do my best to get through it!

Do the family members you'll be eating with know about your anorexia (other than say parents, etc.). Just eat slowly and remember, not everyone's watching (not that I want you hiding it) - just relax and try to focus on the conversation, etc. rather than the meal itself. That, or think of everyone else chowing down in their skivvies (sorry - I'm not making light - I've been anorexic myself and in fact, am struggling with it again right now).

Chin up, Thanksgiving doesn't have to be all about the dinner - make that the least important part of it for yourself. ;) good luck!

If he can find the right tailor, that's a great idea. Sometimes though, the cost of getting something taken in is high, and doesn't always look so great. It can be cheaper to buy a new pair of pants. I had a tailor years ago who was great. He'd charge just a couple of bucks, and his work was great.

I had a tailor like that. He was so good at his craft. He could tailor anything and everything I gave him. He was not so expensive either. Too bad he retired. Now, I take them to this lady who also does a great job, but she charges a bit more than my previous tailor. :(

Good thing for me I have an aunt AND grandma who tailor our clothes for us. They don't charge, so yay! :D All of my pants have been tailored - I have a shorter than 30" inseam (I think, anyway - usually falls at about 28" or 29") so I could buy the shortest length pants and they'd still be too long for me in the inseam.

My sister told me to take up sewing in high school but NOOOOOOOOOO, I wanted to take another class. I can't sew other than hemming a pair of pants and believe me, it is tedious. If I had learned to sew, I could have purchased a sewing machine and do tailoring myself. :(

a negative side about losing weight to me is that it always happens right before Thanksgiving, I've been told by my dad, sister and a few other people that I look like I've lost weight in the past month or two and now Thanksgiving is coming up

I know exactly what you mean Solomon. Because of recent events, I've been loosing weight and now my clothes, especially my pants have become "baggy" as my sister put it and she says I look terrible. She expects me to go out and buy all new pants, this includes jeans, khakis, and dress pants. It's crazy!!
