RHI Original Miniseries ``Flood'' Makes U.S. Debut on ION Television December 16

Four-Hour Television Event Imagines London Underwater and Asks ‘What If?’

NEW YORK -- RHI Entertainment announced today that the four-hour television event Flood will make its U.S. debut during the RHI Movie Weekend on the ION Television Network Sunday, December 16 (7/6c). Airing in its entirety in one night, Flood stars Robert Carlyle (Human Trafficking, Trainspotting, The Full Monty), Jessalyn Gilsig (Prison Break, Nip/Tuck), Tom Courtenay (The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, Dr. Zhivago), Joanne Whalley (Scandal, Dance with a Stranger), David Suchet (Poirot, A World Apart), Nigel Planer (Hogfather, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Young Ones), and Tom Hardy (Marie Antoinette, Black Hawk Down).

When a raging storm coincides with high tides to unleash a colossal tidal surge, the River Thames quickly rises to unprecedented levels and overwhelms the series of barriers designed to keep the city of London safe and dry. As millions of lives hang in the balance, three experts - a top marine engineer, his ex-wife and his father – race against time to save a city on the brink of annihilation. With global warming, rising sea levels, intensifying storms and other real-life issues making headlines on a daily basis, Flood takes viewers to the heart of a catastrophe that seems both unimaginable and yet all too possible in today’s world.

Shot over eleven weeks in South Africa and over two weeks on location in London, Flood is directed by Tony Mitchell. For ultimate realism, the production included 30 tons of water, 27 sets with water and four large water tanks, all combined with CG special effects. Flood is based on the best-selling novel (of the same name) by author Richard Doyle, the grand-nephew of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

I'm glad WTB is still on at 9 . . . this could be it's last month, cause Drew Carey will most likely replace it come January (it's a win-lose situation for me). I still wish instead of airing 2 episodes of both Amen and Alice, they could have given us an episode of Growing Pains and TWY.

Network to Launch Emmy-Nominated Series in Primetime with a “Drew Year’s Party” Marathon on New Year’s Eve

Domestic Cable Distribution the rights to air the beloved, long-running sitcom, The Drew Carey Show. ION Television will launch the Emmy-nominated series with a New Year’s Eve marathon from 7:00-11:00 pm (ET), and then add it to the network’s weeknight primetime lineup New Year’s Day with airings Mondays through Thursdays at 9:00 pm and 9:30 pm (ET).

A long-running hit, The Drew Carey Show is one of only seven network sitcoms to last nine seasons on the air. As much as I like the show, I say WTB will be gone. They dropped TWY to be replaced by the other stuff, so why not WTB? It wasn't moved back, neither was Charlie's Angels or Perfect Strangers. I don't remember anything that has aired in their primetime (except Mama and Murder, their supposed 'crown jewels') being moved or aired earlier; it's usually just dropped.

How were the ratings for Wonder Years when it was airing from 10-11? I guess lower than WTB?, which is lower than Mama. Mama sure must be a big hit.

I heard WTB was doing just as good, if not better than Mama's Family. Seriously I love Mama but she has aired for over a year at 8. If the show is doing so well for them, why not move it to another slot, as it would probably wouldn't hurt the ratings that bad.

I am not sure. Usually primetime is distributed only.

Well, the way it looks, the shows only gonna be on for the next month. And on some nights, it will be interrupted for Christmas episodes and movies. With 8 episodes each week, we should get around 30 episodes, so we should be able to get through the series.

Before you know it they'll be airing 6 episodes of Fresh Prince every night...Well, their primetime from 8-10 is getting very old. Diagnosis Murder airing at 10, which has aired in that time slot a lot on the network in the past, is getting old.

Bring Back Supermarket Sweep,Shop to Drop,Mall Game and so on Game Shows and do a new versions of Wipe Out and Hollywood Squares and so on.

NFL Game of the Week will air every Saturday at 6PM still. Kung Fu is no longer scheduled to return Dec. 15 on Saturdays. Maybe it will return when the NFL season ends.

48 Hours must really be doing badly in that 10pm slot. It's always good to see a sitcom replace a drama on the schedule. I'm surprised they didn't put Mama at 10pm instead.

A25-54 is a huge demographic to cover. But here, WTB dropped a lot from 9:30-10pm, then it dropped again from 10pm-10:30. I wouldn't be suprised either if WTB and DC eventually switched slots, because WTB is a family show, and 10pm may be too late for it (the reason why TWY didn't do so well). Drew Carey is more suitable from the 10pm slot.

I take it I am the only one watching Who's The Boss? at 9:00 pm Central Time

Wonder why no one seems to be watching WTB. It's ratings are horrible at 10pm, I wouldn't be surprised if it's gone by February. Amen doesn't seem to be doing that well either at 6pm. And look how Alice and Mama both rise in their second half hour's. WTB only falls each of the 4 half hours it's on.

Ouch at WTB! Alice is doing much better, especially at 7:30. I can't help but wonder if they'll replace WTB from 10-11 with Alice in February. Not sure what they could air from 7-8, though - maybe a new show.

As for Amen, nothing surprising. It'll probably be gone in February. They'll more than likely bring Diagnosis back at 10.

I look for Drew Carey to do very well for them, maybe as good (or better) than Mama.

I think Maybe Amen and Who's The Boss should swap Time Slot's Who's The Boss? at 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm Central Time and Amen at 9:00 pm and 9:30 pm Central Time.

Thanks for the ratings, Pav. It sure does put a lot into perspective. I'm surprised to see "Alice" doing so well (for ION, at least). I never thought it'd be successful. "Mama's Family" doesn't surprise me. I wouldn't be surprised if its ratings were even higher when it was paired with "Diagnosis Murder." Shows like that go hand in hand.

Thank you Pavanbadal for posting the ION ratings...I never would have thought Mama's Family was as strong as it is. These numbers explain its longevity on the ION schedule.

Do you by any chance have the ratings garnered for the original broadcast of the Flood miniseries a few weeks back?

DuMont Demo: Unfortunately I do not have ratings for that night (Dec. 16). I finally am getting the ION daily ratings now as of Dec. 26. I have Sunday, Dec. 23 also, but didn't bother to post it (didn't get Dec. 24 or 25). Hopefully I can get them everyday...and if I do, they will be posted on the monthly threads.
