View Full Version : Where can I find the filming dates for each episode? manetoys 11-19-2007, 05:39 PM Hi. I'm trying to find the filming dates for each Three's Company episode. I've found the air dates, but I need the filming dates. Does anyone know where I can find them? Lyverbe 11-20-2007, 08:35 AM I also wanted to get that info for Wikipedia, so I tried sending a mail to NBC. Never got a reply. That's the only method I can think of. Some DVD extras show the filming dates on their claping thingy (what's it called?) and we know they shot 1 episode each week, so it's possible to figure it out for a season, but nothing official. Pavan 11-20-2007, 10:24 AM Check out my episode guide at http://www.sitcomsonline.com/jacksbistro ... Tape Dates for most episodes are there. Lyverbe 11-21-2007, 08:21 AM These are the airing dates. What Manetoys wants are the recording dates. vtunie 11-21-2007, 11:14 AM Chris Mann gives the filming dates for the fifth through the eighth seasons in Come and Knock on Our Door. Look at the episode list in the back. The first season dates aren't given directly, except for the first episode, in the main text, but you can figure them out from the illustration of the ticket for the second-episode filming and the episode production numbers, since the normal filming was on Fridays. I wouldn't know where to get the dates for the second, third, and fourth seasons, unless the production company (NRW) still exists in some form. **************************************** PS. Just checked the list on the Jack's Bistro site... it does give the taping dates from the fifth season onwards. Is it copied from Mann's book? It would be neat to incorporate the ratings for each episode's original airing, not only the rank, but the actual percentages (especially for the third season, they really are amazing). I had that info somewhere, but I can't find it... if I do, I'll post it. manetoys 11-29-2007, 09:35 PM thanks for the info guys. appreciate it. manetoys 11-30-2007, 05:51 PM Hey guys. I recently got my hands on a couple of TC tickets. Going by Pavan's site, I was able to figure out one of the episodes, but the other one is a mystery to me. The ticket is dated 12/22/81, but there is no episode listed for that date. Can anyone help me out? Also, did they tape 2 shows on Tuesdays, because the 1st ticket says the show is at 5:30 pm, while the other one says 8 pm. Lyverbe 12-03-2007, 08:43 AM They did tape 2 shows every night (same episode, two different audience, and mixed the best part of each to end up with one). What I find strange is that Jenilee, Joyce and Richard all said that shows were taped on fridays. Hmm... vtunie 12-03-2007, 11:03 PM They did tape on fridays, apparently, most of the time. BUT... Somewhere in Mann's book, it says that at some point around the fidth or sixth seasons, they went from a five-day work week to a four-day work week. This is right around that time. Might they have had some thursday tapings for a while? manetoys 12-04-2007, 05:11 AM this whole thing is confusing me. both my tickets say Tuesday. #1 says Tuesday Dec. 23 1980...this is "Jack's Other Mother" #2 says Tuesday Dec. 22 1981 No episode listed for this date The 1st is the correct taping date according to Pavan's site and using an old calendar, the taping day is Tuesday...which to me is weird since i would imagine they would still be in rehearsals on tuesday and film either thursday or friday. i did some quick calendar matching and these are the supposed days these episodes were taped: episode #80 Sunday..this can't be right!?!? 81 Friday 82 Tuesday 83 Tuesday 84 Tuesday 85 Tuesday 86 Tuesday 87 Tuesday 88 Tuesday 89 Tuesday 90 Tuesday so the majority seems to be tuesday, but if they taped on fridays most of the time, why do my tickets and pav's information say Tuesday?? i hope someone can clear this up as now i'm totally lost. Lyverbe 12-04-2007, 08:20 AM i did some quick calendar matching and these are the supposed days these episodes were taped: episode #80 Sunday..this can't be right!?!? Well, Wikipedia's entry for "Behind The Camera" does say that some recordings were done on sundays, but "Behind The Camera" is not the best source for truth. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behind_the_Camera:_The_Unauthorized_Story_of_Three's_Company manetoys 12-23-2007, 04:07 AM this whole thing is confusing me. both my tickets say Tuesday. 81 Friday 82 Tuesday 83 Tuesday 84 Tuesday 85 Tuesday 86 Tuesday 87 Tuesday 88 Tuesday 89 Tuesday 90 Tuesday so the majority seems to be tuesday, but if they taped on fridays most of the time, why do my tickets and pav's information say Tuesday?? i hope someone can clear this up as now i'm totally lost. anyone? Pavan 12-23-2007, 01:54 PM It is not unusal for shows to tape on Tuesdays. Quite a few do it now even. As for Sundays, my guess is Suzanne messed up that schedule for them. manetoys 12-27-2007, 04:50 AM It is not unusal for shows to tape on Tuesdays. Quite a few do it now even. (Tuesday Dec. 22 1981) There's no episode listed for this date on your site. BeatleMoe 01-04-2008, 11:50 AM Well, in the 1980-81 season, there was an actor's strike, and most shows didn't start until the end of October, beginning of November. It says in the book that they were filming a lot to make up time for the strike. In 1981-1982 season, there was a writer's strike, although Three's Company didn't strike. drew773 08-23-2008, 04:05 AM Lordy lordy lordy... !!! I just got my hands on an original Three's Company taping ticket from Dec 2, 1977. It's SO FREEKING AWESOME. I'm trying to pin down the actual episode recorded that day -- any ideas? There were a bunch of original episodes that December (including "Three's Christmas"), but i can only find air date guides... not the production date info... for Season 2. manetoys 08-25-2008, 02:06 AM that's awesome. where were you able to get a '77 ticket? i'm always looking for early season tickets, but right now i only have 80 & 81 and those are don knotts shows. Lyverbe 08-25-2008, 06:47 AM There were a bunch of original episodes that December (including "Three's Christmas"), but i can only find air date guides... not the production date info... for Season 2. The broadcast date can be about 6 months after the recording date. The fact it was recorded in December doesn't mean it was played in December (in fact, I doubt it). The recording date can't help you. Ps. If you can scan this ticket so we can see it, it would be cool! |
