I also liked Dave Thomas' Wendy commercials. They were so creative, and
he was such a natural for someone with no acting experience. The Energizer
Bunny ads were clever, too. Re Ronald McDonald: did you know that one of
the best-remembered Ronalds was King Moody (KAOS agent Shtarker on GET
SMART)? He played the clown for 18 years and has appeared in over a
thousand TV commercials.

I also like the "time to make the donuts" guy (Dunkin Donuts) and the Keebler Elves. Very cool.
I thought the Brawny Man from those paper towel commericals was kind of cool when it first came out years ago.

1. I remember the breakfast cereal mascots being huge in the 1980s and 1990s: Snap, Crackle, and Pop; Tony the Tiger; Toucan Sam; Dig Em; Trix the Rabbit; Lucky the Leprechaun; Count Chocula, Booberry, and Frankenberry; Cap'n Crunch; Sugar Bear; the Cheerios Bee; Sonny the Cuckoo Bird; and more. It'd be hard to just choose one of those.
2. The McDonaldland characters were around for many years. I remember Burger King at one time had competing mascots (not the creepy king, but the original Burger King and his friends), but the McDonaldland characters lasted many years longer. And the Ronald McDonald charity is incredible.
The Jolly Green Giant, Kool-Aid Man, and Chester Cheetah would round out my top "five".
