B and I have talked pretty much on a daily basis for the past year and a half, but tonight he came on to tell me that his grandfather passed away earlier with heart failure and a deteriorating liver.

So I hope him and his family pull through and do well because his mother is especially close with his grandfather.

I'm so sorry Brandon! I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I lost my grandfather 3 years ago, so I understand what you're going through. We were very close and I miss him very much, especially around this time of year. :crying:

Thank you John, Irene, Mikado, Kristel, and everyone else for your support. I truly appreciate it. It's been a really tough few days for us.

His health was really failing him. He also had kidney problems. The kidney failure I had known about because he had been on dialysis for several months, but when my mom told me that he had congestive heart failure and that his liver was also in bad shape, that part I wasn't really expecting to hear. He also had really bad arthritis in his knees and for the past year needed a wheelchair to get around. I know that it was really hard on him because he was so used to doing things independently for himself and it had to be so difficult for him to adjust and have someone help him get around and do things around the house.

But not only am I in mourning, but as John mentioned, I'm most worried about my mom. I hate seeing my family in any kind of distress. And my grandmother as well. My grandmother and he had their issues in the past but they were able to work around it all and they had become such close friends and called each other every day and spent holidays together. And my mother and the rest of us love talking to each other all the time and it's going to be so hard for us to go through with this. It's hard to imagine what this is doing to all of us. And I hate to imagine what it's doing to my grandmother. I really do.

God what a horrible week this will be. I know that he's in a much better place now and is suffering no longer. And I know that by sticking together as a family, it'll be hard, but we will get through this. Thank you guys so much for your support.

My Granma was the closest person in the World to me, she died 2 years ago this week; i know how you feel.....I still find myself expecting to see her again, or hear her voice, even now.

Thank you guys.

It's been almost one week. We've been real busy planning everything, I had to buy a suit for the funeral and everything. It's on Saturday.

I'm still rather down from time to time, but I'm starting to feel a bit better. I find myself sometimes doing other things to help take my mind off of everything, and it helps, even if it's just for a little bit. I'm also more talkative again like before.

But it looks like Thanksgiving for our family won't be so bad after all. My uncle called us last night and said that his wife started having labor pains, and at first we thought it was probably just false labor, like what usually happens towards the end, but it turns out that it's actually time. It's a month early but the doctors have assured us that everything should be fine.

We've had such a hard week and I'm glad that today looks like it will be good after all.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
