I found this link in another forum, the person said if you go here and sign up and vote (at least 3000 people) for UM, the first season will be released on DVD---has anyone done this yet?????
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/
I will get around to signing up.
BUT....
I've heard an awful lot of things about this company. Things like the following:
Mild: Seen this frequently
DVD's a little longer than expected to get to their owner
Not all shows in great/good quality as promised
Most shows taken off t.v or tapes
Sound quality not always good
Moderate: Rarely seen this
DVD's never arrived, contacted seller, got a refund
DVD's never arrived, contacted seller, got them two months later
BAD: SEE THIS ALMOST ALWAYS...
DVD's never arrived, emailed/call/wrote seller and never heard back, credit card company/bank can't do anything for me, or worse, card/account has been frozen
Ditto on the above, but add that sellers phone numbers in another country.
Owner of number never picked up, now it's disconnected
Phone numbers are wrong
Six months later, rip off!
You could probably do a google search and see what you come up with. I have seen responses like these with my own eyes. The mild gripes I've read end with the customers being able to "live with" the less than perfect DVD's. The bad complaints are bad!
One last thing, a while ago I did email this company twice about some DVD's and never got a response. I personally wouldn't trust them.
BUT, I will sign. :)

I'm a little skeptical as well. Is there any proof that they will release the first season if 3,000 people vote for it?

Being a long time reader of tvshowsondvd and the Home Theater Forum, the purpose of their website is for fans to sign up their favorite shows, letting the DVD studios know which titles they would like to have on home video (kind of like the online petitions). They do not manufacture or sell DVD's. TV Guide recently purchased their website, and it's really a great resource for fans...
D'oh! That's right!
I was thinking of two other companies. You could probably find out which ones if you look for "wonder years complete series on dvd" or something like that.
I'll probably delete my original comment later on.

Zero, I totally know one website that is like what you are talking about. It's something like TVclassicsonline or something like that. Oh actually, it was Nickclassics.com. My neice and I stumbled upon it doing a search of some of our old Nickelodeon shows hoping they were on DVD. Surprisingly, we found this website that had all the seasons of "Salute Your Shorts" and it was only $40! We finally got them and they looked as if they were taped off of VHS's and they had the Nickelodeon logo in the corner of the screen and crudely skipped commercials.
The reason I asked if anyone had signed up to sign the petition because I didn't know if it was legit. While this other website had just about every show you can imagine, the quality was terrible and we weren't about to get burned again.
