Next week is my Boss Birthday and 4 of my co-workers are asking other staff to contribute to the birthday celebration by bringing some cooked food from home or buying something to bring to the dinner. So we continue to treat this man like the KING OF PHILADELPHIA while NONE OF US gets an increase in our salary year after year?

this is the first job I have ever been with where co-workers celebrated the boss birthday. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB.

i dont know why they can't just say Happy Birthday to you.... I hate work sometimes. too! and i know how you feel about that also.
and they gotta celabrate bosses day and all exc. blahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

  If the boss has half a brain, he'd better very CLOSELY and check those homemade chocolates Solomon's planning on giving him!

Yah, I worked for a card company so imagine that - people got a f*rt crosswise and they had to put up crepe paper and bring in cakes to celebrate. I'm waiting for the day some broad runs out of the washroom with a positive birth control test expecting a potluck for it!

My boss got a little spread on his b-day too. It was mostly just his secretary's doing though. Fine by me.

Just don't participate if you don't want to contribute.

Is there a Trader Joe's near you. They have VERY LOW prices & their stuff is pretty nice. Go early though. Long lines otherwise because of the prices. If no TJ near you, go someplace cheap to get the stuff--just be sure it doesn't look cheap. Juice/seltzer is a good idea --probably lesss likely to starin the wallet too.

I'm not making that much of a effort, Rite Aid is good enough
