When Carl Weather storms in on JJ and the lady he was painting, did he ask his wife, "This bag of bones beat my time?":confused:

He was implying how could his wife want J.J., that skinny bag of bones, instead of him, a tall, handsome man...also he was stating was J.J. really better "in bed" than him.

saw this episode last week and I noticed that Esther Rolle and John Amos was trying to stop from laughing when J.J was jumping up and down saying-"You lucky my dad got here"

He was implying how could his wife want J.J., that skinny bag of bones, instead of him, a tall, handsome man...also he was stating was J.J. really better "in bed" than him.


He might have been asking how his wife could want JJ over him, but I doubt if he was talking about how JJ was "in bed". I didn't get that impression when I saw the episode.

^^^^The husband assumed the wife was cheating on him. He sees his wife in a bathing suit in an apartment when another guy comes out of the room and says words to the effect of "Ok, I'm ready." J.J. saying that line was a funny line meant to give a false impression of something.

How did Carl Weathers know where to find his wife, did he secretley follow her?

I think he found one of J.J.'s homemade business cards at his house. Or he did follow her. The wife did tell J.J. that her husband had been getting suspicious of her activities and being sneaky. Which is why he assumed she was cheating with J.J.

Believe me, if I had Carl Weathers (back then) as a husband, you wouldn't find me with a guy like J.J. :rofl: Carl's "time can't be beat!" :lol:

And then the husband said, "You messin' with this bag of bones?!!" :rofl:

J.J. then said, "You think that me...and her...are..." and then the husband says something like, "Damn straight." :lol: J.J. then grins at the thought that the husband believed he is doing it with the wife.
