THE OTHER HALF, which starred Dick Clark, Mario Lopez and Danny Bonaduce. That was one of my fave shows and I am really shocked to hear this. I kept seeing his pic on the news yesterday and I thought it looked like him but I didn't think it WAS ACTUALLY HIM! He also had another show on the air. He is also accused of SEXUAL ASSAULT:

Dr. Jan Adams has identified himself as the surgeon who operated on Kanye West's mother Donda, who authorities believe later died from surgery complications. Dr. Adams told TMZ he "did nothing wrong" while performing a tummy tuck and breast reduction on Dondra and that her death was unforeseen and could have been caused by a heart attack, pulmonary embolism or massive vomiting.

TMZ has claims that Dr. Adams has a checkered history. According to TMZ, he was convicted of DUIs in 1994, 2003 and 2006 and the Board of California filed legal papers last April asking to revoke or suspend his medical license. TMZ also uncovered two malpractice judgments against Dr. Adams from 2001.

The doctor, who made a guest appearance on Oprah in 2003 and was the host of Discovery Channel's Plastic Surgery: Before and After, is a well known plastic surgeon. He also co-hosted NBC's short-lived male version of The View, called The Other Half.

Dr. Adams, who is not Board Certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, told TMZ that he met with Kanye's mom over a period of four months. Donda allegedly changed her mind numerous times about the surgery.

Teana Lucas, an aspiring model and former patient of Adams, filed a complaint on Nov. 21, 2005, accusing the doctor of sexual assault, civil battery and intentional infliction of emotional ditress. On Dec. 13, she amended the filing and added medical malpractice to her list of complaints.

Lucas claims that she consulted with Adams to perform liposuction on her upper arms and abdomen in October, 2004 and had the surgery in November of that year.

According to the papers, when she was undergoing surgery, "Defendant comforted her as she was undergoing anesthesia. Defendant leaned over and whispered in Plaintiff's ear that he 'loved' her, that he was 'going to marry her.'"

According to the suit, Adams made a house call to Lucas days after the surgery, on Nov. 24, 2004, when Lucas was still on pain meds. Adams allegedly told Lucas she needed to get out of the house to help with her recovery and "told her to get dressed and that he was taking her out for dinner." The Plaintiff claims she had warned Dr. Adams she had not eaten all day and had taken pain medication.

Hours later, Lucas claims, Adams took her back to his house for sex. Lucas says in the papers she "was so heaviy intoxicated, she lacked the ability to consent and did not consent, to the sexual intercourse."

On Dec. 3, 2004, Lucas says in the documents, she discovered she was pregnant. She claims Adams said he was "delighted" with the pregnancy news when she told him and would contact a real estate broker about getting a house for them and that they "would get married and have the baby."

However, Lucas terminated the pregnancy, she says in the documents

I knew you would know because I remember you liking the show as much as I did. I AM TOTALLY SHOCKED. I seen the pics and I even said to myself, "It looks like that doctor from The Other Half." But I didn't think it was actually him. I also enjoyed watching his other show PLASTIC SURGERY:BEFORE AND AFTER. It wasn't those cheesy plastic surgery programs where you see stupid young girls getting unnecessary surgery "just because." It is a great show and now I don't think I will ever be able to look at that show again. He dispensed great advice and even talked abt how to choose the right doctor. Sounds like he was talking abt himself.

That sucks...I feel really bad for Kanye, especially since his mother died over something so meaningless. She was at a very high risk for complication and this was pretty much the only lunatic who would perform the surgery. Sad. :rip:

^^^ I agree. Regardless of his beliefs, what he says, etc. he lost his mother and I hate to think how the holidays will be for him and the rest of his family. Very sad indeed.
