Is anyone as unaffected by the Hollywood writers strike as I am?

I mean, if I hadn't heard about it on the news I never would have known. I tend to stay away from any show produced after 1995. Most of it isn't worth the computer chips it is written on anyway, IMO.

Maybe they will stay on strike until some decent writers come along.;)

Their's about 5 shows I will really miss but the others that I watch won't bother me much. I watch too much tv and I get burnt out on it sometimes. I'll just find other things to do. They're probably doing me a favor. lol

I myself am enjoying Corner Gas on WGN, which is the funniest show on television. It keeps me enjoying watching television and the writing is hilarious. This show is not affected by the strike because it was/is produced and made in Canada. If more shows were like this (in the U.S.) it would bring sitcoms back in droves.

Same here! All the shows I watch (The King of Queens, Reba, Still Standing and I Love Lucy etc.) are all repeats so... no need for the writers now.

It won't bother me at all. I like a couple of shows, but not to the point that it will drive me crazy if I don't see them. Lost, whatever, that's a crapshoot, and we never know if it will be great or if it will suck. I think the writers who wrote the first leg of last seaon of Lost should be fired anyway. It was that bad, IMO. Shark and Back to You are the only network shows I watch. Even HBO is in a slump with shows. I'm only watching Curb Your Enthusiasm. Quite honestly, this strike could last for years, and it wouldn't affect me.

Personally, I don't think they should be paying the writers anything until they come up with more decent material!

I don't even have cable TV. So. Whatever.

The only current TV show requiring writers -- but not current anymore, as it ended for good in May -- I was watching was Gilmore Girls. But yeah... it's not on now.

BTW, I got rid of my HBO, Showtime and TMC simply because of the reruns on those channels. I am not missing anything.

I am...there are a few shows I watch that are going to be screwed up as a result. Daily Show, Colbert Report, SNL...30 Rock, but that one is set for awhile anyway.

im just sad 30 Rock isnt gonna be on for awhile, but i'll deal without it. i'm getting the first season DVD for Christmas, so i'll have that to hold me over if the strike lasts. it still has 5 more episodes left anyway.

A week ago Monday I was at Rockefeller Plaza where the writers went to picket. I saw TINA FEY! Even after she smiled and waved at me I still never went over to talk to her. Even when I wanted to after that she was too busy talking to reporters. I did get a few pics of her though- I'll post them later.

Personally, the only shows that really will affect me are Late Night With Conan O'Brien and Law and Order SVU- oh yeah and SNL too sometimes! Other than that I just mostly watch old reruns or the news.

Ahh Tina SMILED at you? I would bow to her. She is my idol :lol: I'd killed to meet that lady, I feel like I have so much in common with her personality wise.

I am watching Desperate Housewives (better than the past two seasons), Brothers And Sisters (addictive and I will miss the Walkers), Reaper (can do without it, it's okay but not really growing on me), Pushing Daisies (brilliant), Private Practice (decent but not great), Ugly Betty (loving this season so far) and Grey's Anatomy (somewhat slumping this season) in prime-time, One Tree Hill is coming back in January for what is probably going to be its final season, I just hope that the strike ends in time for OTH to have a final sendoff. The season 4 finale was sort of a "series finale" of sorts (since the characters are aging five years this season, since I guess they can't pretend its 28 year old stars are still 18, lol) so there is still a sorta finale even if season five doesn't get one.

I am glad I discovered Corner Gas after hearing the word of mouth, it's the funniest sitcom I've encountered in a long time and I think NBC should maybe try to air episodes of it while their shows are on hiatus because I think it'd do well with the Scrubs/Office crowd, even tho it's a funnier show than either of those IMO.

I also am a huge fan of Dancing With the Stars and Survivor. Two shows that are not affected by the writers' strike. So far the only show I love that relies on writers is THE TONIGHT SHOW.

I just hope they work it out soon.

Yes it is. It is hilarious and something I look forward to on a daily basis. WGN could have gone the route of airing this show once a week as a new show, but instead, airs it 6 days of the week. I feel bad for the folks on the east coast who have to watch it at midnight.

Yeah, I usually watch tv til midnight or 1 a.m. I have missed Corner Gas a few times because I fell asleep early on Friday nights. WGN airs Corner Gas at 11:30 p.m on Friday nights. That's crazy, that means the people on the east coast watch it at 2:30 a.m. If they bother to stay up. :eek: :lol:

I watch 2 shows on a regular basis, 2 semi-regular, and 1 if I feel like it. I'd prefer to keep seeing them new and not replaced by some garbage reality crap. If this stupid strike gets them canned, then I'll be pissed, but all in all, I won't die. I'll just listen to music even more.

You know I never thought of that. With this strike, people may venture to other channels, other shows just to check them out. Good point.;)

The show's I'll really miss are NCIS, Chuck, Criminal Minds, Back To You, and Shark. All others I can wait for the strike to end. I'll have Jericho and some of Lost to watch in the new year so all is not lost for me.
