View Full Version : TVLand getting rid of I Love Lucy? YoAdrian 11-12-2007, 08:46 PM I thought I read that somewhere? I hope I am wrong. Ireneparalegal 11-12-2007, 08:53 PM I hope you read wrong. YoAdrian 11-12-2007, 08:57 PM On the TV Land message board it says it is being replaced with The Beverly Hillbillies. Ireneparalegal 11-12-2007, 08:58 PM Although I have two seasons of DVD's and I do get I Love Lucy on two local channels, I know that many only get ILL on TVland. That just sux!! JulieSomoski 11-12-2007, 09:11 PM Although I have two seasons of DVD's and I do get I Love Lucy on two local channels, I know that many only get ILL on TVland. That just sux!! That does suck? I only have the first 2 seasons on DVD, so I usually get my fix of Lucy either at 6pm or weekend mornings. I would buy the rest of the seasons on DVD, but they're so damn expensive? I saw the third season ON SALE at Best Buy for $37.99. I can usually find most sitcoms for under $30, so I was surprised to see them so much. caxe 11-12-2007, 10:17 PM I was debating over whether or not to buy the box set...if they cancel it I will get the complete series on DVD! OH Nuts! 11-12-2007, 10:34 PM I was debating over whether or not to buy the box set...if they cancel it I will get the complete series on DVD! The 194 ep soup to nuts set (Seasons 1-9) is cheaply packaged but the discs seem fine. I paid $140 for mine @ Target. I wouldn't go over $140 for it. But I'm glad I have it ALL now. OH Nuts! 11-13-2007, 01:24 AM What a poor decision, Lucy's the best thing TV Land's got going for them. How long do we have until it's off the air? :( If they did cancel I.L.L. it would be one great big major LAME A** decision. TV Land schmeeveeland. As I've said before, to heck w cable TV. I put my $35-40 a month to getting DVD sets of shows I loves so I don't ever have to be dependent on any sorry-a** excuse for a TV channel. catlover79 11-13-2007, 01:27 AM TV Land needs all the hours it can to air such classics as Crocodile Dundee 2.  puke: Pavan 11-13-2007, 01:34 AM Not true. Read the December and January threads on the General Sitcoms Board. *ClassicPinUp* 11-13-2007, 08:48 AM From what I've read the I Love Lucy contract is up in 2008 but it will probably be renewed. Here's what someone said about this; "The network's contract to "I Love Lucy" ends at the end of December of 2008 (next year). But that doesn't mean it will the leave the network. There's a possibility of the show getting renewed. But it would help a great deal if the fans of ILL showed the network that they want "I Love Lucy" to remain on the schedule beyond 2008. " ethelmaepotter 11-22-2007, 10:52 PM I like The Beverly Hillbillies, but it doesn't have a chance on TV Land anyway. It will be airing at 2 & 3 AM in no time like all the good shows. Plus, if The Beverly Hillbillies replaces I Love Lucy, it will automatically have two strikes against it. OH Nuts! 11-23-2007, 03:11 AM TV Land needs all the hours it can to air such classics as Crocodile Dundee 2.  puke: Yes, TV Land stupid decision # 1,084,398 SPLAIN 11-23-2007, 09:29 AM What's the name of the moron who runs that place anyway? Must have been appointed by Bush. Or a gary morTon relative. |
