FX picks up "Damages" for two more seasons

Nothing like an unexpected surprise. While I always thought FX would renew the critically acclaimed "Damages" starring Glenn Close, that confidence began to wane when the channel seemed to blithely dismiss the ratings as good not great. ("Damages" pulled in an average of 2.5 million viewers and 1.1 million in the all-important 18-49 demo, but those numbers jumped to 5.1 million viewers and 2.5 million in the demo when it the weekly multi-telecast numbers were factored in.) The channel took a long time in making the announcement and that led to rumors that it might not happen, which led in turn to speculation that there might be a hang-up with Close (since the ratings are actually good enough for renewal). After the finale - and still no word - a lot of agitated fans were getting desperate (but that's all good hype, eventually). It was then, however, when I started to hear it was just a matter of time until the deal got done.

She's baaaack.
But two seasons - 26 episodes? Didn't see that coming. It's good news and yet another superb drama in the FX stable. Season 2 of "Damages" begins filming early next year in New York. Strike permitting, one would assume.

Yes! This totally has made my day.

I wonder if Ted is coming back for the second season?

This is fantastic news! Thanks for posting Sonny. I never missed an episode. Glenn Close, Ted Danson, Rose Byrne, Zeljko Ivanek, Tate Donovan and the rest put on quite a show. I hope they have a new storyline though, as I was growing weary of that one.
