View Full Version : What's the first episode of Wings you remember watching?
Chocoholic 11-12-2007, 12:09 PM The first episode I remember watching is the one where Antonio had to drive Carlton around and they wind up getting trapped in his cab along with Roy, Lowell, and Alex. I started watching NBC Thursday nights with my mom and thought it was a funny show. Years later, I'm still hooked. Some other shows I started watching around that time like Frasier, Seinfeld, and Mad About You I eventually lost interest in.
Kristen 11-12-2007, 12:53 PM I've said in another thread here that my first ep. was "I Love Brian." And then I don't think I watched any until "A Decent Proposal," and I remember thinking all the next day that Helen HAD to pick Joe instead of Davis, even though I knew nothing of Joe and Helen's history, LOL. That was when I knew I was hooked!
Carrie 11-12-2007, 01:58 PM The first episode that I watched was "The Puppetmaster." Helen and Joe's kiss at the end is what got me hooked. I just knew they would end up together!

Same here! I was only 13, but I wanted Joe and Helen to get to gether so badly. :D
Adamantium 11-12-2007, 05:44 PM I don't remember exactly which one the first episode I saw was. However, the earliest one I remember seeing was "Das Plane." I watched it on USA with my sister when they used to air "Wings" at 10 or 11pm. I thought that was the funniest thing ever. It was a great lineup, an hour of "Wings" then an episode of "Quantum Leap."
The first episode I saw in recent years was in 2000 on USAM. It was the episode where Brian took Alex to the Club Car to make his "girlfriend" jealous. I remember liking the show enough to start recording it from that point on. And I did. :)
Skywalker 11-12-2007, 11:52 PM The first episode I remember watching is "Maybe It's You". I think it was the only episode of Wings that I watched while it aired on NBC and the only reason I watched it was because Jenny McCarthy was the special guest star. I had actually seen a few eps of Wings prior to that on USA, but I don't remember any of the episodes.
McFly121 11-13-2007, 06:54 PM The first technical time I remember was a quick bit after "Cheers" where I hadn't changed the channel yet, and they were all sitting around Helen's counter. Just didn't catch my fancy (though I only gave it like 2 minutes, bad me).
The "hooked" point came when flipping past USA one night about 11:00 o' clock late in 1996 and seeing a rather endowed woman in a white tank top talking about going to the gym (Three Jerks and a Jill). I started watching Alex-only eps, but soon realized the show was damn good.
So thanks to my hormones, I became a Wingnut :).
Guy Bramsworth 01-16-2008, 12:55 AM My first episode was the one where Frasier from Cheers crosses over. My first impression? This show surely takes a lot of cheap shot jokes that are recycled from the whole history of sitcoms. I swear either the jokes for this show were still new in those days, or someone at NBC just kept the show living for the hell of it. 8 seasons of this crap?! Holy crap! quote the wise man.
It couldn't be a more obvious rip off of characters from other shows too. That main guy is Sam from Cheers, the blond is Diane from Cheers too. WAIT, IT'S ALL FROM CHEERS. The Fat Guy(tm) is Norm, the electrician guy(or whatever he is, the guy in uniform) is Cliff if he were dumb instead, the older lady is a nicer Carla, and the main set in general is A RIP OFF OF THE SETTING IN A DRINKING/EATING ENVIRONMENT, AKA CHEERS!! EVEN DOWN TO THE NAME BEING A SINGLE WORD, IT'S ALL A RIP OFF!!!
This show should have crash landed from the beginning(I bet that jokes in the show somewhere too).
Wings FLINGS!
TreeTrout 02-24-2008, 03:28 PM I fell in love with Tim Daly on the spot the first time I ever saw Wings, which had to be when it followed Cheers because I was a fan of that show... if i was home, I did not miss it. It was a regular thing, Thursday nights with Cheers/Wings, so it had to be '91 or '92? And I know the first episode that truly hooked me was when Joe and Helen had the big fight in the terminal. I became less of a Cheers fan and more of a Wings fan then. I might have even started recording it.
Ya know, save the first season of Soap, Wings is the only sitcom I have on DVD. I'm a little bummed we're already waiting on season six to arrive -- it's almost over, ha! And it started declining that season IMO... four and five were just the best.

Classicshowsgurl15 02-25-2008, 10:17 PM The first one I saw was Das Plane and I thought it was hilarious. Then after that I only saw a few episodes here and there, but since I have been watching clips and full episodes on youtube I am starting to get into more and i'm renting Seasons 1&2 from netflix and they are so funny, I love every episode in season 2 so far. So, now i'm pretty much hooked on it too.:)
Oh and peter may, I went to your website a few days ago, I think its very cool.
