The Montreal police are looking for a man who posed as a deliveryman in a home invasion in Dollard des Ormeaux Saturday morning.
The man rang the doorbell of a home on Viking St., near the corner of Arthur St., just before 10:30 a.m. Montreal police Constable Olivier Lapointe said the man was carrying a box.
"He told the person who answered the door, a woman (in her 60's), that he was making a delivery. As soon as she opened the door slightly he pushed himself in and tried to tie up the woman inside," Lapointe said. "It all
happened very fast."
The man appeared to believe that the woman was home alone. When she called out to her husband who was on the second floor of the house the robber left the house immediately, Lapointe said.
The couple were not injured in the incident.
"They are doing well. No one had to be sent to the hospital. An ambulance came just to make sure everything was all right," Lapointe said adding officers arrived shortly after a call was placed to 911 but they were unable to locate the suspect.
He is described as a white male between the age of 30 and 35 who speaks both French and English. He stands about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds and has short, dark hair. He was dressed entirely in black clothing including his coat, pants, shoes and baseball cap. He was also wearing dark sunglasses.
