Hi,
What do you all know about "block" shows (which run anywhere from one to two hours in length) that aired Saturday mornings on ABC, CBS and NBC?
"Block" shows were known for their distinct, customized opening and closing bumpers (which would be reworked for syndication). Later on, these "block" shows would have separate opening and closing bumpers (sometimes the individual closings would be played back-to-back rather than every 30 minutes) to make the individual shows represented in each block easier to package for off-network syndication.
However, early "block" shows present a few problems, specifically in when it comes time to release such "block" programs on DVD, such as The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour and the impending release of The Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show. Certain opening and closing bumpers of these "block" shows are sometimes not found when DVD restoration begins to take place for these programs.
