In the previous episode where Gracie was bullied by a classmate, I thought that Chuck and Kelly's constant fighting was getting way out of hand. Do you think they fight too much? I feel that if the writers don't tone down the constant bickering and make the show more of an ensemble comedy like Newsradio, it will be a ripe pick for cancellation. Your thoughts on this matter.

I enjoy the show as it is. Of course there is place for improvement but I'll leave it to the writers to choose what path they'll actually go.... because let's say ... I want to be surpprised ;).

I'd also like to say, that keep in mind, the show is still in its early stages. Right now, the characters are still being developed. You have to have patience and see where the characters take you. I am sure that Kelly and Chuck won't be fighting for the entire 24 episodes, that is, if there is 24 episodes this season. :(

To me, the more they bicker the more it seems like Patricia Heaton is still
playing Debra Barone. In other words, they act like a typical (sitcom) married
couple.

That's a good way to put it. I think she still needs a little time to make Kelly Carr her own character, anot Debra Barone. But, all the characters still do need to come to evolve into their own. It's really too hard to tell

That's true. Hopefully, the writers, (wait, what writers?) won't turn Chuck and Kelly into the Bickersons. It would weigh the show down. They have to strike the perfect balance. I also hope they don't turn Kelly into a shrew. I loved her on ELR, but she did complain a lot. Who could blame her with those insane, meddling those in-laws. I just want to see a softer, completely different character for Patricia Heaton.
Brian, I love your avatar. I always knew Patty loved you.
