Lindsay Lohan may make her first post-rehab appearance on "Ugly Betty."
The troubled film star might play a fallen beauty queen who takes over as the manager of the fast food restaurant where Betty Suarez's father works.
"Everyone's very excited," a show insider told The New York Observer. "Of course it brings a lot of attention to the show, and it's a great part for Lindsay."
The role is part of a three-episode arc during which Betty befriends Lohan's character, who has fallen on tough times since high school.
Lohan has had a tough summer herself, recently emerging from a stint in rehab on the heels of two DUI charges. Her troubles have had show business insiders wondering if Lohan is even still employable in Hollywood, as the insurance rates to keep her on a set have skyrocketed.
"It sounds really cute," the set source said, although the episodes may be in jeopardy because of the ongoing Writers Guild strike. "Betty tries to help Lindsay's character by getting her a job at Mode, the fashion magazine where she works on the show."
