Which country singers do you wish you could hear more of? Which country singers do you wish would just disappear or make the jump into a different genre?

Most underrated, IMHO: Gary Allan, Phil Vassar, Rodney Atkins, Jake Owen, Emerson Drive (They are so talented and deserve as much attention as Kenny, Brad, George, Carrie, and Toby.)

Most overrated, IMHO: Faith Hill (Her style is more cheesy pop than country to me.), Shania Twain (Ugh!), and Keith Urban (He's OK. I just think he's more rock than country.)

I don't think that Martina McBride gets the respect that she so deserves. That lady has such an amazing voice. On the other hand, I wish I could go the rest of my life without hearing Toby Keith again.

I agree with you about Martina but not about Toby. If I could go the rest of my life without hearing one singer it would be Kenny Chesney.

Overrated; Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.. okay we get that you're in love. Although I do love his newer song I'M ALREADY HOME. Beautifully written. Carrie Underwood; I like some of her songs but the 24/7 playing of that 'before he cheats' song is making me get really tired of her voice.

I agree about Mike and Charles about Martina - I got to see her in concert this past summer and she was awesome. Gary Morris was another country singer completely overlooked and had one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard.

Overrated - Tim & Faith, for sure!!

I think people can be harsh on the likes of Shania and Faith for the wrong reasons. A major reason why they have fans who aren't your typical country fans is because they aren't typical country. Pop fans can listen to Shania and not feel like they're being forcefed country music.

The artists I think that are overrated are:
Big and Rich- Even thought I like there song at this moment but other then that I can't stand them.
Kenny Cheseny- I know allot of people think he is hot but allot of his songs sound the same
Cowboy Troy- Now come on there is no such thing as Country Rap, I mean Rap isn't even close to sounding country,I mean that isn't what country music is
Rascal Flatts - I liked them allot at first but there just becoming annoying I mean they play there songs all the time on the radio and I'm getting tired of it
Kelli Pickler- I couldn't stand her on American Idol and I can't stand her now she needs to go away (sorry if you do like her)
Brooks & Dunn- I like them but how many times can you win the Duo of the year award I mean they should just start calling it the Brooks & Dunn award
Dolly Parton- I know she is a classic singer and alot of today's country artists were big fans of her's but I just can't stand her and her soldiers as she called them on Oprah (If you get what I am saying)

Underrated Artists
Alison Krauss - In my opinion she has the best singing voice of anyone I have heard and she is always on tune but she just doesn't get recognized or awarded for it like she should. I mean I like ever single song she has ever made. I saw her in concert a year ago and she was fantastic, it wasn't a big blowen out concert like for example Garth Brooks who always get's really crazy during his concerts but it was a very well done concert I mean for not going crazy I really enjoyed it.
Jerry Douglas- He is a fantastic Dobro player but those artists don't get recognized like they should
The Wreckers- I loved every song on there CD. I think Michelle Branch is a better country singer then pop singer in my opinion
Little Big Town- I just love how well they can harmonize. I saw them in concert a year ago and they sang great they even did a Fleetwood Mac song Go your own way and they did a wonderful job with that song. I saw last year they did the show crossroads with Lindsey Buckingham and they were great with Lindsey as the lead and them as the back ground harmonizers it was awesome I wish I would of taped it.

I agree with Martina, though it's sad that at times she actually has to be looked at as underrated. She so deserves to win Female Vocalist of the Year tonight on the CMA's, but I'm sure it will go to Carrie.

I agree. While Aaron Tippin's voice might not be the greatest, I saw him in concert once (it happened to be his birthday that day!) and he was very humble, entertaining, and funny.

^^^ Do you remember what year it was that you saw him? I'm asking because one of the times that I got to see him was actually on his birthday too! I saw him at the 4th of July celebration in Pigeon Forge at a place called Patriot Park. It was on his birthday July 3rd and one of my favorite things about the show was watching him put together a bicycle that was meant for the Toys For Tots organization. :) :) :)

God bless you and him always!!!
