View Full Version : #10 The Fur Coat
OH Nuts! 11-06-2007, 09:57 AM Been so crazy busy at work I haven't had a chance to go back and begin watching each ep one by one from the beginning...til now. Just saw #10, and you know I think, Lucy Love Mink. She practically glued that thing on her. Perhaps it's a fable she's also fond of sable, and chincilla, not quite the same. Anyways, as daffy & as crazy as Lucy's thinking can be, the way she works Ricky by always making up that their anniv.'s right around the corner is a clever (although manipulative) way to get goodies. And she does pretty good in the end. Also, love the way she keeps yanking Ethel back after Ethel accidentally starts to spill the beans. Lucy makes her empty the whole can of legumes, and exacts a very nice revenge on Ricky.
Madame X 11-06-2007, 11:35 AM I like when the real burglar was leaving and Ricky yelled "Hey you forgot the coat!"
I just noticed the burglar used a key to open the front door. And Fred must have had a pretty tall ladder to reach up to the 4th floor window! Cutting up the fake fur was priceless, and Ricky's collapse at the end was very professional stunt.

The burglar used a key???? I have to check that out!
Fred must have had a tall ladder. Remember in the episode ADDAGIO with the frenchman? He too was at that window and he must have used that same tall ladder!
Couldn't Ricky see that the fur was not the same? Even Ethel remarked it was a poor imitation of the real one. It looked more like a gorilla suit than a fur coat!
Rich!!!!! I LOVE HOW YOU POSTED!! You are witty and have a flair for putting your posts together. I love it. "Spilled the legumes."

I never noticed that abt the burgler & the ladder. After you tell me things like this, I hit my head and go "how could I have missed this". I'm having such a blast going thru these 1 by 1.
I.L.L. is so refreshingly original & innovational ; it blows my mind that it was one of the first shows on TV. And the best!

A gorilla suit! OMG that's hilarious! Good one, Irene!  :brent
I would think that once Ricky had the pieces of fur in his hands he could figure it out. Another time where Ricky acted like an idiot! :faint:
SPLAIN 11-07-2007, 02:54 PM This particular show is my current ALL TIME FAVORITE. It is so funny, from start to finish and everybody gets to shine, but none more than Lucy herself. I think my all time favorite scene is the one where the robber threatens to shoot her while she's wearing the coat as she won't give it up, and so she lifts it so the bullit won't damage the coat, LOL! Wearing it to bed and while washing dishes was a nice touch also, i just LOVE this one.

Ireneparalegal 11-07-2007, 06:45 PM Yeah, I had seen the scene already and I did see what you had posted here. Thanx for the pic though.
I can't believe I never caught that before and I am aghast at the fact that a stranger had a key. Could it be some sort of key that is like a skeleton key, a universal style key that would open any door? Or am I grasping at some logical reason here?

Yeah, I was thinking about a skeleton key, but the wad of keys he had was enormous! How did he find the right one so easily especially when the locksmith took hours to find a key for the handcuffs!

You know, that is funny. That thought came to me as I went to pick up my son from school. I was saying to myself, that skeleton key thingy couldn't be it because he would need several types of "universal" keys, just like that locksmith man as you so keenly pointed out. So there goes that theory I had.

 I never noticed that! lol.
Ireneparalegal 11-08-2007, 12:21 AM I swear, if it wasn't for Stacey posting pics, I would probably never notice a lot of things. The scenes play out so fast, that no matter how many times you view the scene, you may never catch anything out of the ordinary.
