ok heres the start of my ff..its boring now but it'll get better i promise! jus tgotta get past these intros! hehe

(a little background, blair is married to tad with no children. Tootie is single with no children. Nat is married to Snake with a one year old daughter named Jaclyn. Jo has a 5 year old daughter named Jamie. Bruce passed away three years ago, and Mrs.Garett was never re-married.)

A Reunion had been planned a few weeks ago, fortuantely, everyone was able to attend. The day had finally arrived, and Mrs. Garett was waiting anxiously on the couch for everyone to arrive.

Mrs. Garett looked down at her watch, and started tapping her foot. She looked around the room attempting to distract herself from thinking about the time. All of a sudden she heard a knock at the door. Immediatley she jumped to her feet and ran to the door. She combed her fingers threw her hair, and slowly opened the door to see Natalie and Snake. Mrs. Garett's eyes widened. "Oh, I can't believe my eyes! Natalie! is that really you?!" Mrs. Garett asked excitabley. "Yep! it's me alright!" Nat said as she hugged Mrs. Garett. "Oh and Snake! You look wonderful!" Snake smiled back at her. "Thanks. It's great to see you again Mrs. Garett." Everyone just looked at eachother until Mrs. Garett said "Well don't just stand in the door! come on inside! I want to hear all about your lives!" Nat and Snake followed a very excited Mrs. Garett inside and sat down on the couch next to her. "Do you two have any children?" Mrs. Garett asked. "We have a daughter named Jacyln. We wanted to bring her, but it was just too long of a ride for a one year old baby from conneticut to new york, so we got the babysitter to watch her for the weekend." Nat said. "Oh, well too bad! i'm sure everyone would have loved to meet her. But, i understand your reasoning. i probebly would have done the same if i were you. So" Mrs. G said changing the subject."what do you do? "Well, " Snake started before he was inerupted by a knock on the door which caused Mrs. Garett and Nat to hop up off their feet and run to the door.

"TOOTIE!" Nat screamed and she hugged her. "NAT!" Tootie laughed as she hugged her back. They soon seperated and Tootie's eyes widened when she Mrs. Garett. "Mrs. Garett!" She said as she hugged her. "How have you been Tootie?" Mrs. Garett asked as she lead her inside. "Oh, I've been great! I just finished performing in a play. I got to be the lead and everything!" she said excitably, "That's great!" Nat said, she then hesitated "Where's Jeff?" she asked. "Oh, him." she rolled her eyes. "We were divorced last year. And let me tell ya, i'm glad we were. Things just weren't working out. I'm much happier now." "Oh, i'm so sorry to hear that Tootie." said Mrs. Garett sympathetically. "Mrs. Garett, please. don't be sorry! I'm very happy without him, and im sure he's happier without me too." she looked around. "Snake! Hey! I didn't see you over there!" she ran over and gave him a small hug. "How are you?" "Fine, thanks. great to see you again." he said as he smiled. Tootie smiled "What a gentleman! Wow Nat, im impressed." she laughed. Just then there was another knock on the door. Mrs. Garett ran to answer it.

Her excitement faded, "Well, hello. Can i help you?" Mrs. Garett asked the little girl standing at the door. "Um, well my..my..mommy will be here in a minute. She just went to get her bag." the little girl shyly replied. "Who's your mommy? Tootie asked as she came to the door. "Jo Bonner..." she answered. Nat gasped. "You! You're Jo and Rick's daughter!!" cried Nat excitabley. Jamie, who was a little bit frightened, backed away and nodded. "Oh, don't be shy hunny, come on in. I'm Mrs. Garett, and this is Natalie" she pointed at Nat. "...and this is Tootie." she pointed to Tootie. Jamie didn't reply, or move. Just, then Jo came up behind her. "Are my friends scaring you?" she asked as she laughed. "Jo!" They all yelled at the same time as they hugged her. Jamie was squished in between them. "Mooooommm" she whined. Jo bent down and picked her up. she laughed. "I'm sorry. Come on, let's go inside." They all walked inside and sat down. "Oh, hey Snake." Jo said. "Hey" he paused "...Jo right?" he asked, embarassed. "Yep that'd be me" "Sorry, you just, look very different!" he replied. she looked at him funny. "Don't worry though! It's a good thing!" "Yea Jo, he's right." Tootie said. "You look great" "Whatever you say" Jo said as she shook her head and sat down. "Where's Rick?" Mrs. Garett asked. "Oh, he's traveling again. You know him, always working!" she said as she smiled. "Of-course, he always was like that!" Nat added. Jus then there was a knock at the door. "I bet I know who that is!" Mrs. G said excitably "Come on in Blair!" she yelled.

"Hello all!" Blair said as she walked through the door, with Tad following her. "Blair!" Nat said happily as she, Tootie, Mrs. Garett and Jo all walked over to her and hugged her. "You look amazing Blair..." said Tootie. Blair flipped her hair "I do, dont I?" "Put a sock in it Warner." Jo said as she rolled her eyes. "Oh Jo! i didnt even see you!!" She said as she hugged her. "You look...pretty good i must admit." Blair said "You started brushing your hair i see." she said jokingly. "Aye! My mommy always brushes her hair!" Said Jamie as she walked over to Jo, trying to defend her. Jo laughed. "She was just kiddin Jame!" "Oh" said Jamie as her cheeks started to turn red. "By the way Blair, this is Jamie. She'll be six in a few months." Jo said as she smiled. "Jo...she's adorable! You and Rick must be so happy!" Blair said. "Yep. I'm..I mean we're very lucky..." "Speaking of Rick, where is he? And Tootie where's Jeff? And..Where's Bruce Mrs. Garett?" "Well" said Mrs. G sadly "Bruce passed away about 3 years ago.." "Oh, I'm so sorry Mrs. Garett" said Blair, with concern in her voice "It's alright Blair, Not your fault. He was suffering.It's better this way." "I'm sorry too Mrs. G" she paused "Rick's traveling around again-" "-and" said Tootie interupting Jo "Jeff and i were divorced last year, but enough about us, who's this?" She asked referring to Tad. "Oh, this is my husband Tad.." answered Blair. Tad stepped forward. "Hey..." Tad said shyly "Oh come on, this is no time to be shy!" she said. He just looked at her. "Don't mind him, he's shy around people he's not farmiliar with. Don't worry though, by later tonight you won't be able to shut-him up." she said jokingly. "Gee thanks Blair" he said as he sat down next to Snake. "Oh hello Snake. didn't see you there!" Blair said. "Hey Blair." Snake replied. There was about four seconds of quiet before Blair interupted "Why don't us girls go up-stairs and gossip just like old times!" Blair suggested. Jo rolled her eyes. "Aww come on Jo! It'll be fun!" added Mrs. Garett. "I just had a nother one of my brilliant ideas!" everyone, even Jo laughed a little. "We could all sleep in our old room tonight! It'll be so much fun!" she said happily. "Yeah, that's a great idea Blair!" Said Tootie. "Ahem" interupted Snake. and what about us guys? "You can sleep on the couch" Nat said. "Great," snake said to Tad "I'm banned to the couch once again. "I hear ya" said Tad. "Mommy...' said Jamie as she walked up to Jo and tapped her leg "What about me?" Jo pickled her up. "Well, um.." "I know!" Said Mrs. G. "You can share my bed with me. It's a pretty big bed, and well, there's definitely room for such a small girl." she said. "Thanks
Mrs, G. Would that be aright with you?" she asked Jamie. "I guess" Jamie shrugged. "Good, good! Now come on lets go see our old room!" said Blair anxiously. They all followed excpet Jo and Jamie. "But mama, what if i have that dream again?" Jamie asked. "I'll show you where my room is, and you come to me okay?" Jamie nodded. "Now, come on, let's go up-stairs." Jo said as she walked up the stairs.

The day quickly passed. It was full of gossip, memories, and laughs. Before they all knew it, it was 10:30...

Tad and Snake are in the other room watching a game. Jo, Blair, Nat, Tootie, are still sitting around talking when Jamie yawns. Jo looks down at her watch. “Whoa, way past your bedtime.” said Jo. “But…I’m not tired.” she yawns “Really I’m not.” Jo smiles at her. “Come on,” she says as she picks her up “Say goodnight to everyone.” Jamie rubs her eyes “Goodnight…” Jamie replies as Jo carries her up-stairs. “We’ll put on your favorite pajamas, you know the ones with the little motorcycles, and then we’ll…” Jo’s voice fades out once she gets up-stairs.

“That girl’s going to grow-up to be just like Jo…” Blair said “Just a lot cuter!” she said jokingly. “I don’t know, do you really think Jo was so" she paused" sweet at five?” Mrs. Garett asked. “You’re right Mrs. Garett” Blair said as she laughed “her first words were probably loosen some teeth!” Everyone laughed. “Yeah” Nat said as she was laughing “I could just see her threatening all the little boys in kindergarten!” Everyone continued laughing. “It’s hard to believe she’s a mom now…”said Tootie. “Oh I know what you mean, but she seems to be doing a great job of it.” added in Nat. Blair nodded. Just then Jo walked down the stairs “Aye, would yah try to keep it down. The kid’s tryin’ to get some sleep.” “Sorry.” Nat whispered. “So.” Jo said as she walked down the stairs “What were you guys laughing at?” “oh,” Mrs. Garett smiled “nothing.” Jo gave her a weird look. “You know what, I don’t think I wanna know.”

The five women sat around and talked for about another hour, before they all began to get tired and went up-stairs to get ready for bed…

Later that night…Jo, Nat, Tootie, Mrs. Garett, Jamie, Tad, and Snake were all asleep, but Blair was tossing and turning. She was finally falling asleep when she heard footsteps coming down the hallway. She slowly opened her eyes to see Jamie walk through the door and go over to Jo’s bed and give her a little nudge. She had obviously been crying. “M…mommy..” she sniffed. “wake…wake up.” Jo slowly opened her eyes. “what’s the matter Jame?” she whispered. “I..I… a bad dream again…but…but it was different this time. It was worse.” Jo rubbed her eyes. “Okay” she said as she slowly got out of bed. “Shhh, we don’t want to wake everybody else up” she then picked Jamie up and brought her into the hallway. “What happened?”

Jamie sniffed again. “Me, and you, and daddy were all in a car…” she quietly said through tears. “…and then a…anoth…another car hit it” she rubbed her eyes as another tear rolled down “but…but instead of just Daddy…” she hesitating…”dying…you did too! And…and I was all alone!” she started crying harder. “…and…it...it was all my fault because I made daddy turn around and give me my juice!” she cried. Jo hugged her tightly, “You know, that the reason Daddy…” Jo hated to use the word, but knew she had to. “died…was not your fault in real life. Another car hit his car because the other person was“ she paused
“…not seeing straight. It’s not your…or daddy’s fault.” “Why did he have to die? Why?” Jamie cried. Jo then hugged her tighter. Jamie nodded. “I guess…” “What was wrong?” asked Nat curiously. “Bad dream” Jo replied. “Bad dreams are the worst!” added Tootie. “You could have woken me up” Said Mrs. Garett sympathetically. “I…um well I didn’t want to bother you or anything Mrs. G” said Jamie. Mrs. Garett smiled at her “Well next time you wake me up alright?” “Okay” Jamie replied. “Now onto a different topic…” Nat paused “Take it away Blair!” Blair did not move, nor reply. “Aye Warner. Snap out of it!” Jo snapped in-front of Blair’s face. Blair shook her head. “Oh, I’m sorry. You know me in the morning.” “Unfortunately, yes we do.” added Jo. “Oh, ha ha Jo.” she answered sarcastically. “Anyway, now Natalie, Tootie, Mrs. Garett and I all heard it was someone’s birthday soon.” Blair said. “Now who could that be?” she asked. Jamie looked around the room until she realized that her birthday was just a few months away. “My birthday’s soon!” she said happily. “Is it? Really? Wow, how old will you be?” Tootie asked. Jamie held up six fingers. “Six!” she answered. “Wow. You’re getting up there kiddo.” Said Nat sarcastically. “Anyway, we wouldn’t want you to go without a present from all of us on your birthday” Mrs. G bent down and picked up a present wrapped in wrapping paper that had balloons all over it. “So we have your present for you right now.” she gave it to Jamie. “We know it’s a little early, but it will just have to do.” Mrs. Garett said with a smile on her face as Jamie shredded apart the wrapping paper. “Oh Wow!” she said excitably as she pulled out a brown stuffed bear wearing a motorcycle jacket, and holding a little plastic helmet. “Wow Jamie! Look what they got you!” Jo exclaimed. Jamie’s eyes lit up! “I love it, I love it, I love it!” She cried. “What are you going to name it?” asked Jo. “Hmm…” Jamie paused for a few seconds. “I know! How about Harley!!!” Everyone laughed. “She’s learning young I see.” Said Snake. “Yep, you got that right.” Jo said proudly. “I’m gonna go bring him to my room! Well,” she paused “your room Mrs. G, but still! I’m gonna introduce him to my other stuffed animals and…” her voice faded out as she ran up-stairs holding Harley. “

“You guys really didn’t have to do that” Jo said. Everyone gave her a look. “…but guys, thanks so much. She really loves that thing.” she added. “Well it was our pleasure” said Tootie. “Yea, it seems to be the least we can do to…” Blair stopped mid-sentence. Jo looked at her confused “What do you mean by, the least you can do…” she questioned suspiciously. “Nothing! Did I say least we can do?” she asked. Jo nodded and looked at her funny. “Well, like I said…you know me in the morning! Never seem to know what I’m saying anymore!” She said, attempting to defend herself.

The day passed quickly. Everyone seemed to have a great time. They all went to the local mall, and went out to lunch and dinner. Jamie took her new bear Harley everywhere she went. That night, the girls decided that it would be best if they just stayed at the house, and talked for a while…

Everyone, including Snake and Tad were sitting around the couch chatting about old times. Although Jamie had already gone to sleep, everyone still laughed as loud as they wished, and she didn’t wake up once. Everyone is laughing and having a good time. Except for Blair who seems to be unusually quiet. After a few minutes she cut into the conversation “I’ll be right back. I just need to get something from up-stairs” Blair says as she leaves the room. Everyone seems to ignore her because they are so caught up in laughter. Tad however, notices Blair leave. He follows her upstairs.

“Something wrong?” Tad asks her. “Of-course not! Why would you think that?” Blair asks, innocently. “Well” he pauses “You’ve just been so quiet all day that I thought…maybe something was bothering you.” “You’re always quiet Tad, and no one ever thinks anything is wrong with you.” she answers rudely. “Well…” Tad finds himself in-search for words “I…um..” Blair holds up her hand signaling him to stop. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. I guess I’m just tired.” Tad shrugs and sits down next to her.

All of a sudden Jo comes up the stairs trying to hold in her laughter. “Tad! You gotta get back down here! We’re about to talk about Blair, trust me you don’t wanna miss this!” she laughs again. Tad looks at Blair, as if asking her if he can go. “Oh, just go ahead. Nothing you don’t already know.” Blair says. “Oh I wouldn’t be too sure of that!” Jo says as she laughs again. Ta smiles and stands up and walks to the door. “Oh yea they all want you back down there too Blair.” Jo says. Blair gives her a look. “I’m sure.” she pauses. “…but I’d rather just stay up here for a while. You know, catch up on my reading.” she says as she pulls out an address book. Jo gives he a look. “give me a break Blair. Since when do you read an address book when you can be gossiping?” “Since now! What’s it to you?” She says with attitude. “What’s with you today?” Jo asks. “Nothing. I’m great. I’m perfect! Why does everybody keep asking me what’s wrong?!” Blair replies angrily. “That’s why…I mean you‘ve had this attitude all day!” Jo replies. “Fine. You want to know the truth?” she asked. “Spill it.” answered Jo. “Jo…” she says slowly. “I know.” Jo gives her a look…”Know what?” “About Rick.” Blair answers. “What about Rick?” She asks trying to cover up the truth. “I know that he’s” she hesitates “well…dead.” she says quietly. “What are you talking about Warner. Rick’s not dead-” Blair cuts her off. “Jo stop kidding yourself I heard you and Jamie talking last night. I heard everything. I’m sorry. I mean, I know I wouldn’t be the first person on your list of people to hear your secret" she pauses "but I know.” “I knew I should’ve taken Jamie downstairs.” Jo sits down. “That way I wouldn’t have to worry about anyone eavesdropping on our conversation.” she says rudely. “I was not eavesdropping Jo, I couldn’t sleep. I was up anyway.” Blair answers innocently. Jo shakes her head “Forget it. Just listen to me” she pauses “You can not tell anyone.” she says sternly. “But Jo-” Blair cuts in, but is soon interrupted again by Jo. “Understand?” Blair sighs and nods her head. “Yes…I understand. I won’t tell anyone. But Jo” she hesitates, Jo looks at her “Are you okay? You know with Rick and everything.” She asks. Jo rolls her eyes. “Come back downstairs aright?” she says changing the subject. “Uh…okay…” says Blair, confused as she follows Jo back downstairs.

WOW! I, I mean Jo, is certainly taking Rick's death tough. I mean, I would expect her to and all, but she is being rough on poor Blair. hehe here's more! sorry for the delay...

Blair was able to keep her mouth shut for the rest of the day which surprised Jo. She had obviously been tempted more than once to tell her friend’s secret. For example, when they were all talking about their husband’s jobs Blair looked as if she were about to burst. However, she said nothing about Rick or the fact that he was dead…

The next day everyone got up a little earlier than usual, got dressed, and ate breakfast at an earlier hour. Jo was very concerned about her secret, because she knew that Blair is not aware of anything she says in the early morning. And although it wasn’t very early, Jo could tell that Blair was out of it. “Aye Warner.” she said. “Remember what I told you yesterday.” “Right. No problem Jo I won’t tell anyone that Rick’s-” Blair says as she rubs her eyes before she gets cut off by Jo. “Blair! Just keep your mouth shut aright?” she says angrily. “Okay, okay.” she answers. “Hey, what’s all this fighting about?” Mrs. Garett asks. “Nothing Mrs. G.” answers Jo. “Whatever you say.” Mrs. G pauses “I made some pancakes this morning.” she said, changing the subject. “Mm, looks great.” said Nat. “I must say I’ve missed all your home-cooked meals Mrs. Garett” Tootie adds. Everyone is eating their breakfast when all of a sudden Jamie breaks the quiet “Mommy, I wish Daddy could have been here to eat these pancakes. He used to love them. Remember?” She asks. Jo’s eyes widen as she turns to her daughter, as if she was sending her a signal to keep her mouth shut. “Uh, yea I know. He loves pancakes” she quickly says. “Jo, what does she mean by used to love…” Tootie asks curiously. “I…I wouldn’t know. She’s just tired this morning. You know how it is.” Jo pauses “Right Jamie?” she looks at her daughter. Jamie nods. “Oh, Jo stop kidding yourself.” Blair adds. “What you mean Blair?” asks Mrs. Garett. “You might as well just tell them he’s dead-” she quickly stops speaking and puts her hand over her mouth as soon as she realizes what she just said. “Jo…” Nat hesitates “Rick’s dead…” she asks quietly. “I should have known not to trust you Blair. I mean, you? Keep a secret for more than one day? I should have known better.” she says angrily. “Jo, I am so sorry. I, I didn’t know what I was saying. I didn’t realize. I’m sorry!” Blair cries. Jo just rolls her eyes. “Come on Jamie.” she grabs her by the arm. “Let’s get out of here.” she says as she hurriedly walks towards the door, grabs her suitcase and opens the door. “Jo wait!” Blair yells as she runs towards the door. However, she is too late…Jo had already slammed the door, right in-front of her face. Blair leans against the door. “I’m…I’m sorry…” she says quietly.

About 10 minutes went by, Jamie hadn’t said a word to her mother yet because she wanted her to cool down first. Finally, it had looked like Jo calmed down a little bit so Jamie decided to ask her a few questions that were on her mind…

“Why did we go?” she asked. “Because Blair told everyone else about Daddy, that’s why.” she answered rudely. Jamie slunk back into her seat. “Oh.” Jamie answered. “But…why couldn’t you just tell them…” she asked. “Because there are certain things that people just don’t need to know.” Jo answered.

Back at Mrs. Garrett’s place everyone is worried and wants to go after Jo…”Mrs. Garett we have to find her! Don’t you get it?! We have to!” yelled Nat. “Natalie! Don’t you realize what would happen if we went after her now?” Mrs. Garrett asked. “No. We don’t, let’s go.” answered Nat as she headed for the door. “Whoa, not so fast.” said Snake as he held Nat back. “Why don’t you at-least hear Mrs. Garett out.” “Fine…” Nat says reluctantly. “Thank you.” Mrs. Garett says as she smiles at Snake. “Now girls, if we followed Jo, that would just get her angrier. We need to give her time to calm down. If she wants to talk this whole thing over, she’ll come back, and if not…well we need to respect that.” “I hope she comes back…” says Tootie “Not just for her sake, for Blair’s too…” she says as she looks at Blair who is sitting on the couch, with Tad next to her just staring at the wall.

“Harley!” Jamie suddenly yelled giving Jo a shock. “Jamie don’t yell like that when I’m driving.” she says. “But…but I left him!” she cries “What are you talking about?” she asks. “You know” she whines. “the bear your friends got me for my birthday. We left so fast that I left him up-stairs!” she pauses “We have to go back.” “You know we can’t go back.” Jo answers. “Oh please mommy! Please!! Harley’s my favorite toy I’ve ever had! Please mom!!” she pleads with tears in her eyes. Jo sighs. “Jamie…” she pauses and turns to her to see how upset she is. She shakes her head. “Okay fine…just don’t cry okay.” she says in a nicer tone. She then pulls out a tissue and hands it to Jamie as she turns her car around. Jamie sniffs. “Thank you…” she faintly replies.

Back with the girls, everyone is now sitting around, hoping that the phone will ring. Blair hasn’t said a word since Jo left. “You want a drink or something Blair?” Tad asks. She shakes her head. “Want anything?” he asks. “No.” she slightly smiles. “thank you though.” “Blair you can’t blame yourself for this.” Nat says. Blair looks at her. “Natalie, what are you talking about? It is my fault. She told me not to tell anyone…and I told everyone.” she says. “We would have found out eventually anyway” Tootie says trying to make Blair feel better. Blair forces a smiles “sure…”

About 20 minutes later Jo pulled into the driveway. “Aright listen, you go in, get the bear and come back got it?” she said to Jamie. “Got it.” Jamie replied as she opened the car-door and headed to the house. She then walked to the door, and knocked…

“Jamie!” Mrs. Garett said excitably. “You’re back!” “Um, no I’m not.” Jamie said. Tootie, Nat, and Blair walked over and gave Jamie a strange look. “I mean, I’m just getting Harley, then I’m going back outside…” she said as she walked inside and headed for the stairs. “Jamie, is your mother in her car right now?” Mrs. G asked. “Yeah…” Jamie replied. “Good. Stay in here Jamie. Don’t go back to the car. Got it?” Mrs. Garett asked. “Got it.” Jamie answered as Mrs. Garett walked outside. “Wait but I told my mom I got it when…” Jamie stopped herself before she went any further. She shook her head. “Oh, never mind.” she said as she walked up the stairs to get Harley.

Mrs. G walked outside and opened the door to Jo’s car and sat down in the passenger seat. “Mrs. G, I know what you’re trying to do.” Jo says as soon as Mrs. Garett sits down. “Oh really?” Mrs. G asks. “Yea and all I can say is thanks, but no thanks.” she says. “Come on Jo, will you at-least listen to me for five minutes?” Mrs. Garett asks. “Fine.” Jo replies. “Good. Now listen, I remember many years ago a girl saying that running away from your problems gets a person no where. Do you remember that Jo?” she asks. “I’m not runnin’ away Mrs. G.” “Didn’t seem like that to me. I mean, you did run out the door.” she says. Jo turned her head away. “Jo, you can’t just keep ignoring the truth.” “Oh yea?” she turns her head back to Mrs. Garett “Give me one good reason why not.” “Alright,” Mrs. G pauses “Jamie.” “What do you mean, Jaime?” Jo asks. “Don’t you realize what you’re doing to her?” she asks “She’s five-” Mrs. Garett starts to say before Jo breaks in “almost six” “Five, six doesn’t make a difference. You’re forcing her to keep a pretty big secret. Secrets at her age are supposed to be about toys and friends, not death.” Jo combs her fingers through her hair “You know Jamie is one of the happiest kids I know, so don’t go sayin she’s unhappy.” “Sure, she may act happy. But, inside she’s not as happy as you may think.” Jo looks down. “What do you mean?” “Forcing Jamie to keep all her feelings inside at such a young age may lead to problems when she’s older. I mean,” she pauses “she may encounter insecurities, paranoia, reoccurring dreams, tempers-” Jo cuts her off. “What’d you say before tempers?” she asks. “Uh, reoccurring dreams…Why?” Mrs. Garett asks curiously. Jo closes her eyes and puts her head on the steering wheel. “I did this to her.” She says guilt fully. “What are you talking about Jo?” she asks. Jo picks her head up. “Ever since Rick’s death, off and on, Jamie’s been having this re-occurring dream. I thought it was just natural, I mean I never would have thought that half the tears she’s cried in her lifetime were all…” she pauses “My fault.” “You can help her.” Mrs. G adds. Jo looks at her. “How?” she asks. “Talk to her about Rick.” “Mrs. G, you don’t understand. I..” She starts to get slightly choked up. “I can’t talk to her. Whenever I look at her, I see him. Her eyes, her smile…” she wipes her eyes. “Just everything about her reminds me of him.” Mrs. G puts a hand on Jo’s shoulder. “You know, you may not think I understand what you’re going through, but I do. When Bruce passed, I didn’t want to talk to anybody. People would call, but I wouldn’t answer the phone. After a while,“ she paused “everyone just, stopped calling. Then one day, I realized that the people who had called me were my friends.” she paused “They wouldn’t have cared enough to call if they weren’t. You need to realize that too. Everyone inside right now is your friend, and they all care.” she took her hand off
Jo’s shoulder “Go back inside Jo, you don’t want to lose good friends like them, that was my mistake.” Jo looked at Mrs. Garett, and tried to hold in her tears but realized that she couldn’t anymore, and she then broke down and cried.

What’s wrong with her eyes?” Jamie asked. “Well,” Mrs. Garett said calmly. “Your mother, had some strong emotions she had to let out.” Jamie gave her a look “Huh?” she asked. “What I mean is that she needed to cry.” “Oh” Jamie said as she slunk back into the couch and looked down. “You made her cry Mrs. G?” “You know I think that we should just wait until your mom gets back inside. She can tell you okay?” asked Tootie. “Okay.” Jamie replied. Just then Jo walked in. Blair immediately hurried over to her. “Jo. I am so sorry!” Blair said. Jo cut in “It’s okay…” “I didn’t mean to tell! It just slipped out!” “Uh...Blair…” interrupted Jo. “I mean, you know me in the morning!” she said speaking quickly. “Blair!” Jo yelled. “What?” she whined. “It’s okay.” Jo said slowly. Blair took a sigh of relief. “Oh good. I was so worried!” “I’m sure.” she said as she walked over to Jamie. “She made you cry?” Jamie asked. “What? Who told you that?” Jo asked. “Mrs. G” she replied. Jo shook her head. “No. She didn’t make me cry. I wanna talk to you for a minute okay?” she asked. Jamie nodded, grabbed Harley, and followed her mom upstairs into her old room.

Jo and Jamie sat down on Jo’s old bed. “Jamie,” Jo paused. “We need to talk about Daddy.” Jamie looked up at Jo kind-of shocked. “But we’re not supposed to. You told me we shouldn’t talk about him or tell anyone.” Jamie said innocently, Jo sighed. “I know I told you that. But that’s all gotta change. Tell me what you’re thinking right now.” “Okay,” Jamie said in a confused voice. “I’m thinking that you want me to forget him.” “What?” Jo asked, shocked. “Well you do! But, I can’t. I’ve tried. Really really hard.” she paused. “But he always come back in my dreams. And I can’t get rid of him! I’m sorry!” “Jame, I don’t want you ever to forget your dad.” Jo said seriously. “You don’t?” Jamie asked. “No. He loved you, and he would never want you to forget that.”

Back in the living room, everyone is sitting around wondering what is going on in the other room. “I wonder what they’re doing…” Nat said. “Probably what Jo said, talking.” answered Blair. “More like crying I bet.” added Tootie. “I’m just gonna go…um check on them.” She paused. “You know, just to see how they’re both doing.” Tootie said as she got up. “Tootie…they’re having a private conversation. You better stay here.” said Mrs. Garett. “Mrs. Garett, I’m not going in the room, just,…um…” She stopped herself. “Oh I’ll be right back.” Tootie then walked up the stairs and stood by the door to hear…laughing. “Daddy really said that?” Jamie laughed. “Yeah, would you believe that! Oh did I ever tell you about the time he came up to my window holding a sock-puppet?” she laughed. “No! Tell me!” Jamie answered eagerly. Tootie made a weird face, and went back downstairs.

“Tootie?” Tad asked. “Is something wrong?” Tootie shook her head. “They’re laughing up there…” she said in a confused voice. “Laughing?” Blair asked. “I thought they were talking about Rick!” added Nat. “Well,” Mrs. G began “perhaps they were talking about the ‘good times’.” “How’d you know?” asked Tootie. “Oh, just a suggestion I gave Jo in the car.” she said. “Well Mrs. Garett,” Blair said “I’ve got to hand it to you…you’ve still got it!” she said as she smiled.

*~*~*The reunion ended the next day. Everyone left as even better friends than they started out to be. After that day, Jo and Jamie often talked about Rick, and Jamie never had her bad dream again*~*~*
