The first show I remember seeing is Gentle Ben back in 1968

The Honeymooners, and the Three Stooges, late at night when I was young.

It's hard to remember. I do remember watching Lassie, and Bonanza back in the late 60's. I also remember the Ed Sullivan show on tv though I never paid attention to it much.

The first show I remember watching was Johnny Sakko and His Flying Robot and Ultraman as 1 followed the other on TV and the first cartoon I watched was Tobor the 8th Man which was in B&W

Sad to say, the first show I remember watching is Small Wonder. :lol:

I think it was a Fawtly Towers rerun or Blackadder, these were what my family watched. :)

I remeber watching spider-man the 1990's cartoon and X-Men 1990's cartoon. I also liked to watch doug. family ties and quatam leap were the two best shows that I got into.

I remember watching the last season or two of Three's Company. I also remember watching The Golden Girls when I was visiting with my grandparents in the mid-80s.

Romper Room for me too and I also remember watching Sesame Street when I was very little, the Electric Company, Zoom, Jonny Quest, and H.R. Pufenstuf. I was scared of that talking flute though. :)

I don't remember very much about it, it's in the distant past. I was very young; I think they had a "talking dog" a Bassett Hound or Beagle named Cleo. Well, it wasn't a talking dog per se, but it supposedly showed what the dog was thinking, if it could talk.

Maybe someone who knows the show more than I could clarify.

I also remember watching Punky Brewster, Silver Spoons and Mr. Belvedere as a little kid - very early on. I saw them when they were still on prime time. One of our local channels showed the classics 24/7 - Lucy, Bewitched, Andy Griffith, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Happy Days, Gomer Pyle, Beverly Hillbillies, Little House on the Prairie, Bonanza...and I got hooked on those. Gee, I wish that channel still existed!!

as a little kid i recall watching Punky Brewster and Saved By The Bell on Boston's WSBK 38--- at the time Punky Brewester would air part of the year and then in the summer would be replaced with Saved By The Bell and Girl Talk (a talk show hosted by Soliel Moon Frye)... that channel also used to air reruns of 90210 and for many years aired MASH and Small Wonder.

Not a sitcom. The Canada-Russia hockey series in 1974. I was five years old. On the other side...

As regards (American) sitcoms, I think Happy Days in 1976. But definitely Welcome Back Kotter that same year. My early favorite, though, was Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner. And a little later, there was a science show on Canadian TV called What Will They Think of Next?. I can still remember the synth music theme.

THE THREE STOOGES wasn't a TV show-although they did make some TV appearences, a failed pilot, and another pilot which they had to stop filming three-quarters of the way through when Larry (the curly-haired one) suffered a stroke.

merchandised from the show). Mary Jane Croft was the voice of Cleo (and
also appeared in several sit-coms, incl. THE ADVENTURES OF OZZIE & HARRIET, HERE'S LUCY, THE LUCY SHOW, and OUR MISS BROOKS). Jackie
Cooper (who played city councilman "Sock" Miller, began as a child star and was in the Our Gang comedies (better known
as THE LITTLE RASCALS in TV syndication). He also starred in another TV
sit-com, HENNESEY (which I've never seen) and, as an adult, appeared in
various feature films and became a movie & TV director, as well. It was fun
seeing him in the "Superman" films as gruff Daily Planet editor Perry White.

It was when the current "wave of nostalgia" was becoming popular, and a local station aired one summer a handful of sitcoms from the 50s; they called it "SITCOMS FROM THE 50S" (wonder how long it took them to think up that name):lol: :lol: :lol:

Not counting Sesame Sreet or cartoons...hmmm. When you're that little, 5-7, it's hard to say for sure, as it kind of runs together. It was one of two.

Welcome Back, Kotter started in 1975, and as I started school around then it was fun to consider what high school would be like. It was pretty innocent fun, overall, witht he Sweathogs, and I know my mom would have let me watch that from the start.

OTOH, my grandaprents like Mary Tyler Moore (Mom and I lived with them then) and it was on afternoons in reruns, so there's a fair chance it was MTM. I know I was into both.

There's a small chance that it was M*A*S*H, but...I think that came 1-2 years later. I know by age 8 I got to stay up half an hour later the night it was on so I could watch it,and I was *so* thrilled.

I don't know if it was in syndication or in production at the time, but I remember seeing Dennis the Menace. Also maybe a little later Captain Kangeroo and Romper Room. The Romper Room I saw may have been done in New England area. I know there were many versions across the country. Same with Bozo the clown another show from my early years.

I am from Western MA. The Freddie Freihofer show ran on WRGB from 1948 - 1965. Friehofer is a local bakery. Jim would take a doodle sent in and make an incredible picture out of it. He told stories and then celebrated the birthdays of the day with Frihofer cakes. I was never on the show, but lot's of my friends were. we used to talk about what happened on the show at school the next day. How times have changed!

I don't know what the first show I saw was, but when I was very young, The Fonz scared the crap out of me. Every time Happy Days was on the TV, I would start running around the room screaming, "Turn it off!!! Turn it off!!! MOOOM!!!"

You can imagine my reaction when I saw Henry Winkler on Sesame Street one day...

Married With Children was one of the first shows I really got in to at an early age.

First shows I remember watching..."Full House," "Family Matters," and "Step by Step" were must-watches circa 1992-1993. Not to mention all of Nickelodeon's shows of that era..."Clarissa Explains It All," "Salute Your Shorts," "Hey Dude," "The Adventures of Pete and Pete," and "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" being the ones I liked the most.

CBS's daytime lineup (Ray Combs "Family Feud," "The Price is Right," "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As the World Turns," and "Guiding Light") were all shows that I never remember watching "for the first time." They have alllways been in my life.

Lotta reruns are like that, too. Like, I remember seeing shows like "Alice" and "Laverne & Shirley" for the first time. I remember "WKRP" and "The Facts of Life" for the first time. But I was introduced to Mary Tyler Moore and Lucy and Archie, and Gilligan, and Bob Newhart, and Dick Van Dyke, and Rhoda...Andy Griffith...the Bradys...Fred and Aunt Esther...and Jeannie, and Sam and Darren, and Jack, Janet and Chrissy...the Fonz, That Girl, Thelma Harper....Zach, Kelly, Slater, and Screech...I can honestly tell you that I do not remember my first time watching those shows because for as far as I can remember (which is pretty far, my earliest memories are from when i was 2...a good 15 and a half years ago), I've *always* watched those shows.
